I ended up putting that book down. I got about to page 50 and quit. I have enough books in my TBR pile (and life is short enough!)that if I'm not liking it, it gets chucked:-)

I'm bummed because I have the next two books in the series also! I can't believe I spent money on them!

I might try the second book, but if it doesn't grab me from the beginning I'm not going to waste my time.

Good plan. It always ticks me off when I buy the first book and then the next assuming I'll like them and it doesn't quite happen that way.
