I just finished A Wallflower Christmas and can't figure a way for it to count but before reading it I read and finished Scandal in Spring which does count because not only was it originally published in August 2006 the wedding which occurs in the book takes place in August. You could say, its so hot, you wish it was cold and Christmas time, just like A Wallflower Christmas :)
Cheryl, I just now read The Wallflower Series including Christmas because I actually didn't discover LK until Mine Till Midnight the next series I read was Travis. So although I really like LK and she has become one of my fave must buy authors I'm way behind some of the rest of you. Alycia, Thanks for the suggestion. We've had some of the same temps as everyone else lately. Sometimes its nice having a temp gauge on your rearview mirror but sometimes its not. I really didn't need to know it was 108 the other day here in Virginia.
Robin wrote: "Cheryl, I just now read The Wallflower Series including Christmas because I actually didn't discover LK until Mine Till Midnight the next series I read was Travis. My car should never tell me when it is 115 degrees and above, although I do have a black car.
Robin- I have not read all of LK's books either. I still have quite a bit to read of hers but I'm savoring them because at the moment she has no historicals that she is writing.. she's working on a new contemporary series. :(
She needs to stop that and get busy on the important stuff - historicals. None of us want to have to take drastic measures **coughMiserycough**
Agreed! Although, to be fair, I've not actually read one of her contemporary books, but I plan to at some point. I just really love the historical books! *sigh*
I plan to read them as well, but I really love the way she does historicals. If she quits, that'll be two of the great ones, LK and Julie Garwood, no longer writing.**sniff, sniff**
I agree ladies. I have been spreading out LK historicals as well. I do have the Travis series sitting on my shelf that I need to read soon.
I hope she doesn't pull a Judith McNaught and stop writing historicals, that would be tragedy. But to be fair I am sure the contemporary books are a nice break so she doesn't become bored with the important books :)
1.The Nerd Who Loved Me by Vicki Lewis Thompson (Set in Las Vegas & Sedona, two popular vacation spots) (6/6)2.Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward (Partially set in the Adirondacks, a popular vacation spot) (6/15)
3.Fire and Rain by Kathleen Eagle (Mostly takes place during the summer) (6/21)
4.The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann (Takes place during August) (6/27)
5.Kiss of Heat by Lora Leigh ("Heat" in title) (6/30)
6.Don't Tell by Karen Rose (originally published in July) (7/8)
7.Maverick's Black Cat by Maggie Casper & Lena Matthews (this book is "hot" enough to start a 5-alarm fire ;-)) (7/18)
8.Lover Mine by J.R. Ward (Red cover - red is a "hot" color; "wedding" takes place) (7/27)
9.Sex, Straight Up by Kathleen O'Reilly (takes place during the summer) (7/30)
10.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling (Lots of wildfires in the summer) (7/30)
11.Sugar on Top by Leigh Ellwood (The hero is preparing for his best friend's bachelor party) (7/31)
12.Gentle Warrior by Julie Garwood (Wedding takes place) (8/5)

I really liked Travis Series but I think a lot of that had to do with the location. It was really cool to read a book and know exactly where the author was talking about because you've been there and be able to relate to the characters because you know people like that.

I knew Julie Garwood seemed to be writing a lot of Contemporary stuff lately but I didn't realize she had completely stopped writing Historical. I wonder why.
I prefer Historical's but enjoy reading Contemporary's every so often feeling I need to spend some time in the modern world.

Be sure to join us for September's Build Your Own Challenge, challenge and the Spell September Challenge as well.
Hi there - yes, I'm in on the read the month of September one. Just haven't figured out the reads yet. :-) I do enjoy your challenges. They aren't so difficult that I'm totally confused over what I have to read next.
Robin wrote: "I knew Julie Garwood seemed to be writing a lot of Contemporary stuff lately but I didn't realize she had completely stopped writing Historical. I wonder why."
I don't think JG stopped writing historicals permanently, just for now... on her website it says she has some 'clans' she wants to check back in with one day, but for now she is writing the contemporary books... :(
I'll be shocked if she starts writing any time soon. I've heard people say that if they even mention historicals she won't answer their questions, and I did email her asking if her historicals would be released in ebook format and never got a reply.

Dear friends, I'll be away for a few days and I truly hope that I can count on you all to behave yourselves and act like proper ladies! *sigh* Maybe I'm asking for too much... I'd leave Cheryl in charge but we all know how that would turn out.
