Do you read a whole series before moving on to another series?

I do tend to read multiple books at a time though.

I also tend to find the other stuff an author has done that might not be as popular. For example, I've read most of MaryJanice Davidson's stuff because I enjoyed the Queen Betsy series. Though I did discover that her female heroines are all kind of a Betsy flavor. It's OK though... I still enjoyed them. Then there was Patricia Briggs. She does the Mercy series, but she also has a couple of duologies that were pretty good, and I wouldn't have found the Alpha & Omega series otherwise.

Series like Dark Hunter and Midnight Breed I can't read back to back, the stories are too similar to me.

phrase...Anticipated Release. hehehe. There are only a couple of series that I enjoy, but am not just so wild about that I can't break and then come back to. The only exception to this is the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series. I have made myself hold on A Breath of Snow and Ashes and Echo in Bone because I don't want to be left hangin' for another two years before the next release, so I'm TRYING to stretch it out. But, usually I just can't wait to see how things pan out for the characters so I have to keep going.

The fact that I had to wait for the next book in line to release kind of ruined that :P
I couldn't wait!
So I found myself starting another series, which would often end in me waiting for the next book to release. And then it happens again...
It's just a never-ending cycle for me!
Not that I'm complaining :)

I seem to jump around and I read more than one book at a time. There are a few exceptions though (if I am reading a book that I cannot stop).
