If you don't want to commit to a series, another good stand alone is Where Dreams Begin.
And I agree with Suzanne, Suddenly You is wonderful!
Oh, I don't think I have read Where Dreams Begin, I think I am going to have to add that to my to read pile!Yeah I really liked Suddenly You, I think it was because the heroine wasn't a young girl, and I the premise made me laugh when I read it, I thought it was quite original. It is definately a keeper I think.
Stranger in My Arms also a nother good one.

It is actually a prequel to the Wallflowers but is listed as a stand-alone, and can definitely be read as a stand-alone.
My very first LK book was Someone to Watch Over Me. It is the first in the Bow Street Runners trilogy, and the one that hooked me on her writing. After reading it, I had to get the next two in the series ASAP.If you would prefer to go with a stand-alone, I'd recommend Again The Magic or Where Dreams Begin. All of these are among my favorite LK books that I've read so far.
Again The Magic is a definite good one to start with and if you like you can go right into the Wallflowers series because it continues from there.
I second Again the Magic, not only is it a great prequel to the Wallflowers series but it is such an excellent book!
Thank you everyone! I'm going to look up a couple of these and see which the library has and give one a go!
One of my favorites is
and that's where I would start, but this is an old thread so you've probably already started.
I like the Gamblers series, especially the Derek Craven book Dreaming of You which is one of my favourites.
Ren, I enjoyed Again the Magic, and everyone always talks about the Gamblers series, so I imagine it's good, LOL.
Again the Magic, that's the one with Westcliffs sisters isn't it? If it is I loved that one too, it is also one of the few to have a secondary romance in it which is always nice.
I'm reading Prince of Dreams
And Nikki (LOVE the name)
is no Prince Charming!
This is very interesting so not what I associate a LK book to represent.
I am liking it okay. I'm at the "flash back/time travel" scene and am thinking hmmmmmmmm.... not sure how it will effect my thoughts on the book.
Is this one of her very first book??
Oh and is it just me or does Emma have a very Beatrix esque quality!!!!

It was one of her earlier books- 1995, but not the first. I think she wrote it after the Gamblers series (Then Came You and Dreaming of You).
I think she was a bit more experimental in some of her earlier books whereas in some of the recent ones she appears to be concentrating on what she knows works/sells. For me I would hope that maybe when she next does a historical she is a more adventurous again as I think that "Again the Magic" was probably the last one where she went a little darker in her work.
I really liked Emma- she was one of my favourite heroines.

I think that LK is very much about the artistic approach to writing. I think each book is different and shows her exploration/growth as a writer.
That's very helpful Suzanne, even though I accidentally started the Hathaway series before I read the Wallflower series, but since I'm really enjoying Mine Til Midnight, the first book in the Hathaway series, I don't really mind! But I will read Again the Magic sometime! :)
I don't think it matters too much really, it is just that you see characters mentioned in the Hathaway series that had their book in the Wallflower series. But they are all great no matter what order you read them in!

Hi. New to LK and LOVE her books! I finished the Ravenel & Wallflower series... Which Ones should I read next?
Ashley wrote: "Hi. New to LK and LOVE her books! I finished the Ravenel & Wallflower series... Which Ones should I read next?"Ashley, I would read the Hathaways as some characters from The Wallflowers do make an appearance in that series too.

that's a Great list!!! I printed it to refer to ask I'm choosing what to read next!
Lori wrote: "I am now reading the ravenels , are there books that lead up to these?"Hi, There are characters in the Ravenels that were from the Wallflowers series. Westcliff, from It Happened One Autumn is kind of omnipresent and his daughter is the heroine Devil in Disguise. Evie and Sebastian are from Devil in Winter and are the parents of the hero of Devil in Spring and heroine of Devil's Daughter.
Ditto to what Sharlene said. If you have the time, read the Wallflower series before starting the Ravenels. You’ll find it to be a much more enjoyable experience. If you don’t have the time for both, the Ravenels are great on their own. Some in the series are better than others, but do read them all, in order.
Enjoy!
