Glad to hear good things about Child of Fire. I have been wanting to check it out for some time now.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 204 comments Finished Shadowspell (Faeriewalker, #2) by Jenna Black . I loved it, but I'm not jumping on the Ethan fan wagon anytime soon.

Will be starting Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb , which I'm a little nervous and way excited!

Cathy (cathepsut) I'm in the middle of Claimed By Shadow (Cassandra Palmer, #2) by Karen Chance . It's the second book in the Cassandra Palmer series. She's a clairvoyant, sees ghosts and travels in time... Sexy vampires are around as well...

Paula (pauldajo) I finished listening to Zombies vs. Unicorns and continue to read Spider's Bite. I'll be so glad when I finally complete this book.

message 956: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bexsi) I have finished Swallowing Darkness (Meredith Gentry, #7) by Laurell K. Hamilton Swallowing Darkness I was delighted to pick up this book and find not only little sex, but a fast paced, hectic and actually exciting and absorbing read. The main storyline is being stretched way too far now, but hopefully the next book will bring it to an end so I gave it 3 stars
The Hunger (My Story) by Carol Drinkwater The Hunger Phylly is a fourteen-year-old girl living in Ireland in 1845. Phylly fights to keep her spirits up through her family's struggle for survival and even experiences the wonder of first love. 4 stars
Awakened (House of Night, #8) by P.C. Cast Awakened Stevie Rae and Rephaim, I felt like somthing was missing 4 stars
Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh Angels' Blood fresh and original but it didnt grip me from the start 3 stars
I have started Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Halfway to the Grave this definitely has a grip on me from the start.

message 960: by Chena (new)

Chena (chena16) | 10 comments I'm reading Unholy Ghosts (Downside Ghosts, #1) by Stacia Kane . I didn't love it from the start as I expected to, but it's really come along. I think part of the problem was the way some of the characters speak. It took me a minute to decipher what they were saying and that was taking me right out of the action. I have to say, though, once I got past that, the story's really picked up. I will definitely try book 2 in the series.

message 961: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments Next for me will be Bitten in Two (Jaz Parks, #7) by Jennifer Rardin , which is a little sad to read knowing about the author, and Goddess of the Sea (Goddess Summoning, #1) by P.C. Cast .

message 962: by Shelley (new)

I loved the idea behind the book. I love the main character, and definitely look forward to the next one which my library still doesn't own.

message 970: by Shelley (new)

Shelley Finished Bloodhound (Beka Cooper, #2) by Tamora Pierce Afraid of the Dark by James Grippando Death's Sweet Embrace (Dark Brethren #2) by Tracey O'Hara Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning

I loved Bloodfever, and Afraid of the Dark. Bloodhound still continues to sway me into reading this series. Death's Sweet Embrace is a book I received in lieu of reading and reviewing (like Afraid of the Dark). Overall, I've enjoyed each of these books.

Next? Hmmm...
Pale Demon (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #9) by Kim Harrison -- ARC from publisher
Raised by Wolves (Raised by Wolves, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
A Wild Light (Hunter Kiss, #3) by Marjorie M. Liu

message 971: by Robert (new)

Robert (riakin) I'm reading this thread in hopes of finding something to read...

message 972: by Tasula (new)

Tasula | 150 comments looking for any particular type of UF? Most of the books in this thread have female protagonists, and some of the books listed are geared more to YA than adults. There are a few threads or listopias that are similar to this one that are more focused- Best Para/UF authors, Underrated UF books, UF with male protagonists, etc.

message 973: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin (beniowa79) Yesterday I finished Vicious Grace by M.L.N. Hanover, the third book in the Black Sun's Daughter series. A little light on plot, it had a decent bit of character development and it didn't end the way I had expected.

message 974: by Shelley (new)

Shelley Finished with Raised by Wolves (Raised by Wolves, #1) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes A Wild Light (Hunter Kiss, #3) by Marjorie M. Liu Blue Noon (Midnighters, #3) by Scott Westerfeld . Working on Pale Demon (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #9) by Kim Harrison which so far is really good! Can't wait to see what others think of this book.

Next in que are: Wicked Game (WVMP Radio, #1) by Jeri Smith-Ready and Bitten in Two (Jaz Parks, #7) by Jennifer Rardin

message 975: by Dija (last edited Jan 15, 2011 11:33PM) (new)

Dija Put A Rush of Wings (The Maker's Song, #1) by Adrian Phoenix on-hold because it was getting to be a bit slow and started Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs instead.

@Shelley: How is Raised by Wolves? I've been looking forward to reading it soon since I've heard it's pretty awesome.

message 976: by Kate (new)

Kate (Kate1) | 14 comments I'm reading Across the Universe by Beth Revis right now and till now it's pretty awesome. Once again, I'm a bit shocked what people would leave behind because of science...

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 204 comments Finished The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade , which was surprisingly great! Just started Tempest Rising (Jane True, #1) by Nicole Peeler .

message 978: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I am halfway through Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead which has been sitting on a shelf for a few years now. I've tried to fit it into a challenge for quite a while now and finally forced myself to pick it up. The heroine is a very powerful shaman who interacts with the Fairy world and seems to be dating a fox shape-shifter. I find it very interesting and it has kept me glued to its pages.

message 979: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I'm also listening to Skin Trade (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #17) by Laurell K. Hamilton which has also been waiting awhile for it's turn. When I saw it in the library, I snapped it up because obviously I can't get my hands on my own copy for whatever reason so at least it'll get read this way.

message 980: by Yodamom (new)

Yodamom I am reading Hunted By The Others (H&W Investigations, #1) by Jess Haines it was a free book for kindle briefly. It's pretty good, has a Jim Butcher/Harry Dresdan feel to it.

message 981: by Julia (new)

Julia | 615 comments I'm reading Liar by Justine Larbalestier , which I thought was contemporary YA, and it is, but it's also got somethinsomethin else going on.

It's also got a textbook unreliable narrator, so, then again maybe not...

message 982: by Darcy (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I am reading Unbound. I've read the Kim Harrison story and then put the book down. Last night I read a Jeaniene Frost story. I hate ghouls and their human eating ways. Though it was a good story.
