i'v started
its very different compared to other books i'v read.i dont mind the writing, its a lil annoying how Gail will change the POV willy nilly but otherwise im enjoying the book so far.
I have just started
. It's historical fiction, not urban fantasy from Anne Frank's friend Peter's POV. Next up is
.

I'm reading
and then
. Both are probably more horror than UF, but I have to read and mail both of them out really soon!

I've just finished the first three October Daye books and am currently on
I'm not sure whether to continue on with Dresden Files, or start one of the numerous new series I've got, when I'm done.
Just finished a book that I would say is a very different take on Urban Fantasy -- a light read called The Detective and the Unicorn. Very well done mix of hard boiled detective and fantasy, though. I'm currently reading 'Rook' by JC Andrijeski.
Just finished
which I really enjoyed. I'm about to start
, which is the first of a series so if I like, I should be busy for a while.

I have all of these books in my Nook ready to read but I'm waiting closer to the August release date of the next book so I don't have to wait for it. I like to read them one right after the other. Just finished book 9 in Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series. Blood Wyne I almost couldn't get through book 7. This is not my favorite series but once I start a series I HAVE to finish it - no matter how much I have to struggle through it. I'm excited to start a new series with my sisters. I'm in charge of the recommendations and am leaning towards Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros series or maybe Devon Monk's Allie Beckstrom series. I've also seen some posts recommending Charlie Huston's Joe Pitt series. I want to make sure I pick a really good series since this is our first "mini-book club" venture. Anyone have suggestions?
Actually - I could probably recommend Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. My sisters read slower than I do and by the time they're done maybe it'll be August!
finished
- gave 3 stars - the book was alright though a bit boring at times, i did enjoy the characters and how they interacted with each other. the main character was a bit stupid somethings which got annoying.will start
by tonight - this will be my second time of reading this book, i enjoyed the series so much i thought i'd re-read it. kinda wished last sacrifice didnt end so boringly though :P

I try to steer away from YA titles because I find myself saying - come on - enough kissing, let's get some action already! Not that paranormal romances should be graphic and torrid to be enjoyable, but I definitely prefer rated R to rated PG. Would you say VA is more for teens? I would imagine the answer is no since it's your second read but I'm curious what you like about it :)

I've read over 320 books since I got my Nook for Christmas! I'll need your help narrowing down though. Do you prefer series with strong male characters where each book focuses on a different couple? Or do you prefer series with one main kick ass heroine and follow her development with her skills and relationships over the course of several books?
Lan-Dinh wrote: "kick ass heroine and follow her development with her skills and relationships over the course of several books? "
kick ass heroine are always the best to read!! :D

i love the characters in the series, especially rose she so strong and kick ass, completely reckless most of the time, she a total joy to read not boring in the slightest. i also found this series to be a bit different from others - it get's annoying when all books start to sound the same :P
i would recommend reading until at least the 2nd book in the series before deciding if you like it or not.
i did first read it about a year or 2 ago so my feelings on the series might of changed.

ooo looks like you'v read the mercy thompson series have you tried the Alpha and Omega series by P.Briggs.
i highly recommend the cassandra palmer series by karen chance. the first book is Touch the Dark.
hmm i have three suggestions but i havent read them in ages so i dont know if they'll be to young or not and there not UF but they were lovely stories - Before I Die, Ophelia & A Rose for the ANZAC Boys.
the Stephanie plum series always makes my laugh, it's not an UF but its hilarious - One for the Money
2 great UF are the night huntress series - Halfway to the Grave - and the elemental assassin series - Spider's Bite. you could also try the sisters of the moon series - Witchling - not everyone likes this series.
Your probably best off reading the book summery than checking out a few of the reviews before deciding on which books you want to read.
♥ Ashleigh ♥ responded to Marsha: "i'll have a quick check of the books you have read, than i'll give you a few suggestions."
I really liked ALpha and Omega. Loved Ms. Briggs' Mercy Thompson series except for the last book which for some reason I thought was horrible and could barely make it through - although I adored the rest of the series.
also agree with Karen Chance recommendation. I liked her Cassie Palmer as well as her Dorina Basarab series.
I have read the elemental assassin series and enjoyed that as well. Can't wait for the next one (I believe it's the series finale) to come out.
I'm getting ready to read Halfway to the Grave with my sisters (mini book club) but I am giving them a head start because I read much faster than they do. Can't wait to get into that series.
The only one I disagree with is Witchling. That series was interesting in parts - great male leads, but the fact that everyone has multiple romantic partners gets a little overdone. Each of the male leads (with the exception of 1 or 2) could have stood alone - no need to add 2 or 3 alpha males to the mix. But I did read ALL 9 books. I almost couldn't make it through book 7 but book 8 was better. I do like how there are 3 sisters and each book has a different sister POV. I did give some of the books 4 stars but overall the series hovered around 3 stars for me.

but i also enjoyed how they swapped POV every book it made things more interesting/refreshing and the "bad guys" they were fighting were pretty interesting, i loved the gargoyle!
have you read the hunger games series?? - The Hunger Games - im up to the second book and finding the series great, it has wonderful twist that you dont see coming and its completely heart wrenching at times!! its Fantastic :D
@ ♥ Ashleigh ♥ re Hunger Games: Actually my husband read it and he then lent the series to his mom. He liked it. Again though, I kind of steered away from it because it was YA. It seems hugely popular though. I had to laugh about your spoiler above. I was trying to "visualize" the scene and decided it's impossible! I was going to get more descriptive but I'm avoiding spoilers as well. But I will say that I love all three of her men and feel that they are strong enough to stand on their own rather being 1 of many. It diminishes them.

i like the incubus and Delilah's new man shade prob the most out of the "hero's". with so many characters its amazing that they dont get confusing, i think its because she changes POV.

lol, yea sometimes they got a bit insane/intense :P

"Haha - in another feed that asked what one of your pet peeves is, I had a lengthy dissertation on how some author's take multiple partner relationships to the extreme. You have to be a member of Cirque de Soleil to accomplish half of those contortions!
♥ Ashleigh ♥ wrote: "i like the incubus and Delilah's new man shade prob the most out of the "hero's". "I agree! We have the same tastes! I really love Shade (view spoiler) and he's the reason why book 8 turned the series back around for me. Book 7 was horrible. But with the intro of Shade my interest is slightly reawakened. PLUS - Delilah is the only one who has figured out how to "make do" with only one man.
With Menolly I'm not sure I love that she is with (view spoiler)
Sorry for the lengthy spoiler but I didn't want to give away who the sisters are currently involved with for those who plan to read the series.
Lan-Dinh wrote: "I agree! We have the same tastes! I really love Shade [spoilers removed] and he's the rea..."smoky is going to eat (view spoiler)
yea i was getting tired of the series about book 7 and was grateful when shade came along, i liked chase but he was being a bit of a douche to Delilah so im glade she with shade now. (view spoiler)
Delilah is prob my fave "heroine" cause of how normal she is then Menolly, Camille is my least fave atm.
i dont mind Menolly with Narissa because a lot of women who have been abused usually find the same sex more calming and easier to be with afterwards.
Regarding the Witchling posts, please open a topic under "UF Book Chat" to discuss this further. Thanks,

Just finished the the first book of the Night Huntress series:
While I wait for my book club to catch up I started the Cal Leandros series tonight. This will be my first series with a male protagonist. Looking forward to the change of pace!
i'v started
- its huge which is a lil annoying cause im not enjoying it that much but its one of my challenge books so im determined to get through it.
I am currently reading The Touch of Twilight by Vicki Petersson which is the third book in the Zodiac series. Its is really good thus far.
I'm working my way through the Shifters series right now, by Rachel Vincent. Right now I'm on book two:
