You bought it because it was 99 cents! That doesn't count! LOL!

I really need to finish Angelfall... Haha.

Anyway. About two hours ago I finally got A Monster Calls from the library. And ... I've already read the whole thing. And finished wiping away my tears. Gahhh. Damn you, Patrick Ness. You always make me cry buckets. >_< But seriously, what an amazing book. I can't even put my thoughts into words right now.

And because you liked it. In fact I had not even heard of it before you were mentioning it!

Brigid Monster Calls is the best book of the year for me so far. Gosh I loved it.

Yeah ... wow. It was amazing.

message 2406: by Emma (new)

Emma (emnor) I started Void Hex; Shadows; Ghosts by Rhiannon Lassiter . It's kind of a weird book. It's pretty long, but I think that it may or may not be three books combined into one? I don't know. Either that, or one long book divided into three sections.... *scratches head*

Okay, I'm now trying to give all my attention to Angelfall. I'm ... probably about a third of the way through it or so. Loving it so far!

I could be wrong but I think she means, don't go into it expecting it to be what it looks like. Like, it seems like a typical paranormal premise but it really isn't.

I am on Ch. 6 on Mockingjay. I didnt start until yesterday and havent been keeping track of it because Ive been having headaches and my glasses wont be coming in until later this week. Its getting pretty good though. Poor Katniss and friends and Peeta...

I started Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green last night, my first John Green book.

Heidi - Angelfall isn't typical PNR. More post-apocalypse. I'm almost positive that you will really like it.

Your first John Green!! You need to read 'The fault in our stars' and 'Looking for alaska', Shannen. I admit I haven't read this one yet.

I was literally laughing out loud while reading Will Grayson on break this afternoon and had to explain it to my co-worker. So far I *heart* the first Will Grayson and Jane.

Haha. :D Yeah, it's definitely a laugh-out-loud book. I remember getting it from the library ... and then I was sitting outside and reading it and was already cracking up on the first page. XD

message 2422: by [deleted user] (new)

I stayed up WAY too late reading last night. I had to get to the part where the Wills meet and then I had to keep reading about Maura. The second Will is more likeable now.

I read Will Grayson because of David Levithan. I had read his work with Rachel Cohn and found them pretty likable. Especially Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn

Victoria (closer2coma86) | 9 comments Just finished an ARC of Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown. It was a good read, although not much action and the romance was blah for me. Fantastic imagery though. Descriptiveness is kind of like Maggie Stiefvater's.

I just started Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park. I'm pretty sure this is a YA novel and the romance between 2 of the characters is supposed to be amazing.

Goodness gracious. Angelfall. I ... I ... I have no words. I mean, I really enjoyed the first half of it, like, "La di da this is fun!" But then I started getting towards the end and it was like, "OH MY FREAKING GOD WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN I'M GOING TO EXPLODE GAHHHHH." Just ... dang. It was so exciting and addicting and awesome. And ... and now I feel all empty because it ended. And now I have to wait for the sequel, which is pure torture.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I loved it. It was super good. But it's also super terrifying as hell. Let's just say in the last 100 pages or so ... well, a lot of really disturbing things happen. So, don't be like me and read it so soon before bed. Haha. XD

message 2435: by Mackenzie (new)

Mackenzie | 55 comments BLUEMOON: I've actually already read the first two :P I absolutely loved the first one! But while the second one didn't have as much Valek (*sob*) I still ended up liking it. For me the romance, plot and characters were all excellent and really made a good book. While I wasn't absolutely in love with all the new characters and the semi-romantic interest in the second one, I still thought the plot was interesting and I want to know where it goes. Hopefully the third one has more Valek! I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the rest of the series but at least you liked the first (and best!) of the trilogy!! <3

I loved Poison Study but was not as in love with book two -- I will admit I was like "where is Valek?" and "more Valek please" most of the second book so that probably didn't help!

Yay! I hope you like it Heidi. Like I said, the first half is pretty good but it's the second half where it gets really awesome. :)

I'm so excited that Brigid loved Angelfall too! It was so amazing and disturbing! I loved it the whole way through. Once again, worth 10x more than the 99 cents I paid for it.

Jessica (BlogEared Books) (blogearedbooks) | 10 comments My kindle is broken right now and I downloaded Angelfall a few months ago. I'm dying to read it!!

message 2443: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you have a smartphone, Jessica? You can download the Kindle app.

Jessica (BlogEared Books) (blogearedbooks) | 10 comments I just need to stop being lazy and call to get a replacement. this is my 4th! They just keep freezing up on me. What's really sad is I work at Amazon and have been too lazy to call :) But, that is because i work in the same office as the free book room and have been hoarding like crazy!!!

I agree... I can't believe it was so cheap. I've paid way more for books that were way worse. >.< lol! Yes yes, amazing and disturbing are probably the two best words to describe it. XD

You could just put your book aside and start reading Angelfall. Not that I've ever done that sort of thing, no. ;)
