LOL! That's a really good endorsement, although it doesn't surprise me. Kids should LOVE this series :)

I need to try him again. I used to love his books, but then I started having trouble getting into them. I hate when that happens, especially when I'm sure it's just me :p

Yeah, he was one of my absolute favorite authors in Middle School and High School, along with Stephen King (who I'm also having trouble getting into these days). Could be I'm less of a fan of their newer stuff or I'm so used to their writing that it's getting boring. Could also be I'm not getting enough sleep :D. The latter wouldn't surprise me.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 836 comments For those interested in getting back into reading Koontz (or giving Koontz a try), I'd also HIGHLY recommend his Frankenstein remake series. Prodigal Son (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein, #1) by Dean Koontz . They showcase everything he's capable of: storytelling, humor, description, action, and horror. Although I love Odd Thomas, I think as a whole, the Frankenstein series is my favorite of his :)

Today I started The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line (Veronica Mars, #1) by Rob Thomas on audio narrated by the fabulous Kristen Bell and I really think Kristen can do some side business as a narrator. She is great so far. LoVe Veronica!!

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 836 comments No worries, I hope you like them as much as I did! I always get worried when I really love something that others might not, especially when they're somewhat different. There's a character in the Frankenstein series that totally remind me of Dobby from Harry Potter, except even funnier :)

Is that good? I kind of wanted to try it, but saw some mixed reviews so I wasn't sure.

It's kinda Percy Jackson-ish. Not quite so much wisecracking, though. I think there could be more character development but it's good for a first book. I'll read the second one and see if the author improves.

Yeah, I was curious about it because it looks like it has a Percy Jackson vibe. So, I might check it out!
