Yay yay yay! I am dying to listen to TKONLG on audio, I hear it is awesome! Oh and can I just say I heart Eric Northman.

Oooo, me too! He is all kinds of hot! Have you watched True Blood? The actor who plays Eric Northman is just as hot (if not hotter) as the Eric I imagined in my head. :)
No I haven't yet! I reeeeally want to though!! I just don't want to spend what they're asking for the full seasons.
If they are on Netflix, you could always do Netflix for a month or two. Just be warned that there is plenty of nudity, etc. ;)
It's a typical HBO show. Haha!
My library has all the True Blood episodes on DVD as well - you may try yours Kourtni. It had too much sex for my prudish tastes. I know. I know. I can read BDB books, but True Blood is too much! I am weird. I did read the first two Sookie books, but did not get attached to anyone. I have heard they get better when Eric is more of a character, but I don't think I will read anymore.

Not only can you read BDB but you can listen to them on audio! :)

True Shannen. I don't know why the visual bothers me more. I did admit I am weird. That is the only rational explanation!
Eh, we're all weird. BDB is way smuttier than True Blood though. Eric Northman and smut go together like peas and carrots.
Heidi- So far I think I liked the first book better; the setting was amazing and I think that made up for some flaws in the story, but this second one has a different setting- just as unique- but not as interesting so far, I think. Plus in the second book I'm 100 pages in and everything is SO random, like there's absolutely no rhyme or reason to what's going on in the story. Rather infuriating, actually -__- But I'm sticking it out to see if it gets better.
Bluemoon wrote: "Doesn't the Sookie stackhouse series kinda like Twilight, but for adults? or is different?"
I read the first two Sookie books - they are different, a lot more adult. I do think S. Meyer ripped off some of the ideas (someone who can read thoughts, protective werewolf friend, etc...) because the Sookie books came out before Twilight ever did.

Bluemoon wrote: "HEIDI: how was Chasing Brooklyn? I know you gave it a four out of five so it must be good, but is it scary?"
It wasn't scary at all. I liked it a lot. Very quick read.

I am reading
and really loving it so far!! I haven't been reading much YA lately and I have no idea why. I guess Sookie has been taking up all of my reading time.

Yay to Will Grayson on audio! p.s. seriously Chasing Brooklyn was not scary AT ALL.

I am trying to start an traveling pants type thing here except it will be a book instead of pants and would love to get some more participants. Please feel free to check out the "around the world and back again thread" if you would be interested. I also welcome any comments or ideas! :)
I just finished
, love that series but the last couple books have been going in a weird direction! Oh well!About to start
. I just watched the movie Friday and I'm excited to start the series!
Kristina - Be warned, the movie strays from the book quite a bit. So much so that it made me very angry...
The Percy in the first book was like 11 years old and in the movie he seemed like he was in his late teens. I didn't watch the movie - just saw the previews.
Oh wow I didn't realize the age was that off. yeah in the movie he seemed at least 16 or 17, big difference from 11 for sure
Yes, they changed SO much. The ending was completely different, the characters were WAY too old, and there were other small details that were unnecessarily altered. Blech.

Squeee, I love Water for Elephants :)

Don't even get me started. I could rant for hours. O_O Let's just say … if it hadn't been for Logan Lerman's attractiveness, I would have found that movie completely unbearable. (And even so, he's totally not Percy in my mind ...)
That said, I'm a huge fan of the books. They're fantastic. :)

Yeah I actually thought the movie was pretty good! Logan Lerman is pretty cute :) However, I am only a little ways into the book and its definitely already different, and I like it too! I think if I had read the book first I would have been mad, but I'm glad I did it this way so that I actually enjoyed the movie. Hopefully they do better with the Sea of Monsters movie!
I'm wondering how they're going to pull off the Sea of Monsters movie after they completely threw the plot out the window. :/ I mean … Luke? The prophecy? Etc? Also, since the first movie pissed off so many fans, I dunno how popular it'd be ...
Seriously! It was like "What's that you say? Camp for demigods? Something about a lightning bolt? Gotchaaa. *writes something random*"
Rick Riordan didn't see the movie. He's my hero.

Well, on his website he says he didn't want it to change his vision of his own book, or something along those lines. :] It could also do with the fact that they entirely ignored his book and made something up. XD
LOL Bluemoon, I agree. There's like an author code that says you can't speak ill of books-turned-bad-movies, I guess. After all, bad as it is, you still earn a lot of cash as the creator of the entire idea! So even if Rick didn't like it, at least he profited from it :) He deserves it, imo!
I just finished
about 30 seconds ago!!!!! The exclamation marks pretty much say it. I absolutely without a doubt love it to pieces. Though now I'm worried if I can stomach the movie.
Kourtni- I read that last fall and I felt the exact same way! It immediately became one of my favorite books! i'm actually excited for the movie, I think they did a good job with casting even though I don't like Reese Witherspoon and I think shes too old for the role of Marlena
**Kind of Spoilery for Water for Elephants**I don't do well at all with animal cruelty....at all. I will be blubbering the whole time. Especially with the Rosie beatings. Its one thing to read about it and a whole other thing to watch it (even if its a movie and its not real)!
I feel the same way, Kourtni. I'm so happy you loved the book. Jacob was such an amazing man and his love of Rosie made me love him even more. I'm going to see the movie with my girlfriends who will also be crying. ;)
Agreed - animal cruelty is digusting, especially things that happen in a circus environment. i love love loved Jacob, as a young AND old man!

Gahh I love Water for Elephants! So good! <3
I don't really want to see the movie though ... Or at least, I'll probably wait for it to come out on DVD if I see it at all.
