I freely admit that I don't know much about wine so I buy ones with interesting names/labels.

My eyes are taking shortcuts.

Wow. Just, wow.

Beer and champagne, even together once... what was I thinking?!! - all good judgment OUT the window

Missing woman found under mattress in Memphis motel
The conversation turned very serious for a bit as we discussed how this woman's body could've been overlooked by hotel staff or guests. Apparently they rented the room out FOUR more times over an almost two month period (January 27th-March 17th) before her body was discovered.

It IS weird, Bun. Although it was reported in Memphis, though, it was actually in West Memphis... West Memphis is actually in part of one of the most impoverished areas of the U.S. - the Arkansas delta region. That's the only part to this story that seems to make it make sense, although it really doesn't.
But that's exactly why this topic of discussion stuck around as long as it did - several of us, including myself, don't watch television/local news and those of us who don't watch television thought it sounded like an urban myth. Apparently it was all the papers and on the television, though.

I'm wondering if the body was wrapped in something, a tarp, or some other plastic, that would keep the smell contained and less noticeable. Maybe the mattresses themselves were covered in synthetic material, and created a seal?

I don't remember where it was reported, but apparently the box spring pad was on the ground and it was a double box spring... And although they didn't say anywhere that she was shoved down into the box spring pad, it made sense then, that someone might've torn away the top liner and put a large plastic bag with her body inside there... BUT still... surely they'd notice it wasn't as springy where her body was under the mattress pad. Regardless, your post is exactly what I said when we were talking on Saturday night, too. Some of the peeps who'd been following the story read the headline as literal.

Not beer though, I hate beer. It's a rainy cold night, I may just have a Cointreau.

And really tasty, too. Orange and sweet and strong. Good stuff! Those monks knew what they were doing.

Accompanied by about six Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. The only REAL Girl Scout cookies!
They go together quite well. :)

Are you really drinking, Sally? I've stopped for the evening, or at least while I'm still online.

I wonder if that first beer carries too many expectations, Sally...that's an interesting question.

It's the first part of 'canoodle' which, as we all know, is a quite pleasant way to pass time.

I had to run right in here to find out who was posting in the drunk thread at 8AM. LUCKY. I don't get do be inebriated until Christmas.
