Glenmorangie is actually one of the smoother single malts, Cynthia. Laphroaig is the one that tastes most like a peat bog, I think--nice once in a while but maybe only for people who really like the taste of a very hardy Scotch whiskey.
Jonathan is correct again Cynthia, this is a very smooth single Malt. Macallans in another one. Other than these two I stay away from Scotch.
**covers ears, closes eyes, tries not to feel sick to stomach.** Ugh. Peat bog smell. Only a pleasant smell when one is in beautiful Ireland.I wonder why I love white wine and hate most of the strong stuff.
Jonathan wrote: "Macallans is great, Jim. Dalwhinnie is a nice smooth Scotch too."I've never had Dalwhinnie, but I'm sure you wouldn't steer me wrong, so I may try that one next.
I think it's probably my favorite Scotch, Jim--a little richer and fuller tasting than Glenmorangie but without the sweetness, and slightly less expensive than Macallans, so a good value.
I'll put it on a list of things to try. My wife may have to go to England again this summer, so if I bum along again I am thinking of heading up to Scotland. At least to Edinburgh. I could try it while I was there.
I had a couple of shots of Jäger. That is all I am admitting to. I also handed out flyers for my friend's band. :)
Good for you, Susan. I haven't done shots of Jägermeister since I was about 20 years old, which was...a long time ago. I remember it was fun, though.
The only liquor at the festival was vodka or jägermeister and my friend insisted we do shots. I did have a really good time. It was a really nice day out in the city. I may curse the fun tomorrow...

I thought I could not still do shots. I am still uncertain as to whether I am able to or not.I am fairly certain the husband cannot.
It's 7:30 in the morning here, Emily. So all I'm imbibing right now is hot coffee. What's on your drinking menu?
Well, here at 9.40pm Friday night I have shared a bottle of Yea Valley shiraz and am now onto an organic cabernet. There's a little greek salad left for nibbles and the anticipation of a work free weekend... I like!
Jonathan, are you listening to news out of Boston? My girlfriend teaches as Wellsley and she said school is cancelled, campus is closed.
You people need more imbibing in your lives...This thought may be the result of beer after wine..
(Beer before wine makes you feel fine; Wine before beer makes you feel queer.)
I wish I could imbibe more. Man how I wish...
Mr Aa - you are strangely everywhere... who are you?Feel free to not answer, this may be asked in beer and nina simone momentum, which is sure to lead to sleep and new days...
Aaron Boutilier from Cape Breton, Canada.
Mystery solved.
Mystery solved.
If so called adventures are liquor free, take me with you.:)
If the intensity of pain the morning after equals the fun had the evening before, then it was a great time:)
I may have mentioned this in here before, but no way was I going to read through 1235 posts to find out.I have never, ever in my life been inebriated. Nor high. Just your run of the mill teetotaler goody-two-shoes over here. So I guess it's fitting I ended up in Utah?
Lobstergirl wrote: "That is a remarkable coincidence."People here tell me I would make a fantastic mormon. No drinking, smoking, drugs, or gambling. And they say my actions put me among the best christians.
Yeah, except for the whole "belief in a higher power" thing, I'd make a great mormon. But they wouldn't have me. Heck, even the local Elk's club won't let me in. Atheists may be growing in number, but we're still on the outside of many things.
