Félix (habitseven) Ah now there's a wagon.

I need several fucking drinks like tomorrow needs today.

We just endured a cancer scare with one of the twins which turned out to be nothing, thank God. A few weeks back, they got into a dust-up and one of them wound up with a bruised sternum.

Lord help me...

Jammies Wow. I can't even imagine what you must have been through, but congrats on the good news!

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments I have a golden ticket! So I can hop off the wagon until midnight... I think my first drink will be for Clark :)

message 959: by [deleted user] (new)

I just shared a bottle of Henschke Henry's Seven with my MIL, okay so I may have drunk the lions share. God it was lovely. The smoothest red ever! Had a very strange discussion about the Picasso print I have on my wall. I don't know how the penguins came into the discussion!

How is dry July going for you Emily? I did it last year. It is surprisingly good for the waistline!

message 964: by Emily (new)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments I did lose a couple of kilos which may or may not be related, and I may or may not have put back on with a few days of feasting...

I'm actually liking it this year (my second time), I've been feeling more productive but it's definitely nice to have a golden ticket to look forward to ;)

So are all Australians crazy, or just the ones that post in this thread?

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments One more weekend to go...

message 976: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Only two and a half days to go, Emily. YOU CAN DO IT!

message 977: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments Hurrah Emily. Your July was dry. How much cash did you raise ?

::Passes a hot toddy to Emily::

message 978: by Emily (new)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments I raised $300, which I thought was not a bad effort. The whole Dry July campaign raised more than 3 million bucks for adults living with cancer. Yay for us & yay for august ;)

::sips hot toddy before bed::

message 979: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I had zero alcohol in July but nobody gave me money for accomplishing that. I need better marketing.

message 980: by [deleted user] (new)

Congratulations Emily. Now get truly inebriated and tell us what you really think.

message 981: by Emily (new)

Dress up as a cornstalk and run out the front door.

message 988: by Emily (new)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments So I'm a little happy. Would like another bottle of wine & feel like I haven't talked to Zardoz in a month, but happy :)

The last of the stressful people are gone from work and it's all shiny happy people & me from how on :)

Apparently red wine = :D

message 989: by evie (new)

evie (ecie) | 4437 comments I've had two hefty glasses of cointreau because I have just spent twelve hours in the emergency department with my 81 year old mum.

Her blood pressure was 215 over something and she fell and broke her collar bone . Please nurse, I'll have some of that guys morphine if you don't mind .

message 990: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments That seemed a lot like my last Thursday evie, my mom was in the hospital because she had chest pains and shortness of breath, and since they had just done a stress test which she passed, they checked her gall bladder and took her in for surgery to remove it. She was a guest at our house over the weekend.

I hope things turn out okay, Jim.

A little sadness in our home, as my FIL passed away this morning. His stroke in November left him unable to walk or to use his right hand, and his kidneys quit on him a month or so ago. Even so, he was awake and coherent until two days ago. My BIL says dad was fighting to the end, keeping his eyes open as he struggled to live.

Guys who fought in WWII sure were tough.
