Hi Joe, welcome to the group!
A book I really liked about US paratroopers in World War II is this one:
All the Way to Berlin: A Paratrooper at War in EuropeThe author was one of the most highly-decorated members of the 82nd Airborne Division and saw lots of action.
Welcome Joe! You might like The Dead and Those About to Die by John C. McManus and The Bedford Boys and The Liberator both by Alex Kershaw.
Theresa wrote: "Welcome Joe! You might like The Dead and Those About to Die by John C. McManus and The Bedford Boys and The Liberator both by Alex Kershaw."I second the recommendation for McManus' book--excellent reading!

Welcome, Joe! I've found a lot of good WWII books (and a few other military & war books) thanks to the recommendations from this group. Hope you do as well.
I have not read this non-fiction book yet (a friend borrowed my copy and is reading it), however, it was highly recommended by a WWII scholar who does courses through the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. My friend is really enjoying it - said they cannot put it down. It's on my want to read list and may be what you are looking for:
Four Hours of Fury: The Untold Story of World War II's Largest Airborne Invasion and the Final Push into Nazi Germany by James M. Fenelon

Hi Joe, nice to have you join up! Theresa's recommendations are solid, great stories. Can't go wrong with Alex Kershaw...I'd also recommend:
The Longest Winter: The Battle of the Bulge and the Epic Story of World War II's Most Decorated Platoon by Alex Kershaw
Hi,I'm Naomi. I share an apartment with my sister Natalie. We're novices and are looking to read up on WW2 and the consequential (some say it was destined to happen regardless of war in Europe) Cold War.

Hi All - just to give you a heads up that our new book came out yesterday! It's a love story set in WW2 Paris, with a Holocaust theme. If you do get a copy and like it, please do post a review at Amazon. These really help get the book traction. And if you could give it a shoutout on social media that would be great!

Hi all, I have been a member of the group for a while now, but I have been away from reading for enjoyment due to life and working on my doctorate. I pop in from time to time to catch up and get some recommendations. I am currently reading The Ghost Tattoo
. Hoping to visit the WWII museum outside of New Orleans in November!

Hello! I'm Derek and I'm finally making time for myself to read again after being away for a bit. I like to read about both World Wars, and I'm looking to jump into John C. McManus's trilogy on the pacific theatre after I finish what I'm currently reading.
Welcome to the group, Derek.I wholeheartedly endorse McManus' Pacific Trilogy, and if you haven't read any of this other work(s), I highly recommend them as well.
