Bill, I really enjoyed GOT. I think it's my favorite of the series so far. I am now halfway through
. I'm liking it a bit better, but I really want the action to pick up a little.....
Just finished Mortal Chaos A fascinating and suspenseful read. Loved it!now reading
Typhoon and so far it's ticking all the boxes.
Also started
Shout at the Devil Interesting start, but put it aside for Typhoon
Earlier this week I read The Cleaner. It was good. I'll keep reading the series. Now I'm working on an ARC for Delusion in Death.

I was pleased to find another crime writer who's books I can enjoy and just received her first two novels via Ama..."I haven't read Tania Carver before, and just checked out the one you're reading plus the two before it...they sound great! Thanks Vivien:)

I just finished reading an ARC of the new Hank Phillippi Ryan book, The Other Woman, which isn't in the catalog yet. However, when it comes up, it's really good. Lots of suspense and it has twists throughout.
I finished Now You See Me. Wow, I loved it! Thought I figured it out about 5 different times and was still surprised at the end.
It's always a good sign when you think you've got it and don't. It's when you figure out the whodunit once and are right that it's no fun! :-)
Finished The Big Nowhere. It was really incredible and now I'm sure that Ellroy is truly magnificent author.
Nearly finished 'Cage of Bones' by Tania Carver. I have really enjoyed reading this book and have just bought the previous two with a fourth coming out in September. Reminds me of Peter Robinson? Maybe because the first Inpector Banks books I read was a similar storyline.
Just finished Typhoon and it's the best espionage book I've read in a long while. Loved it!Now reading Shout at the Devil
Vivien wrote: "Hi Brenda. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to start the other two!"Thanks Vivien...I have written her down, so I won't forget:)
Finished
as I continue to exhaust the library's stock of Parker, and started
as I continue to debate whether I like Sandford's series or not....
I just started
. I am enjoying it so far. When I first started reading it, it reminded me of 50 First Dates, but it is much darker then that.

The Last Kashmiri Rose? I was surprised by how much I liked that book and I'm hoping to get to the 2nd book in the series soon.
Just finished
. Phenomenal read, gave it 5 stars. Just starting
which was given to me by a GR friend in England. Thanks again, Anne!
Reading "And When She was Good" by Laura Lippman. One of the finest writers, in ANY genre. And this one is truly riveting.
I finished Vengeance by Stuart M. Kaminsky, the first book in the Lewis Fonesca series. Good book, and Fonesca - a sad but droll process server mourning the death of his wife - makes a good amateur detective.
I have just finished Blood Safari by Deon Meyer. I listened to the audio version with superb narration by Saul Reichlin. It was a good read although I felt the author spent unnecessary time on educating the reader about South Africa. (I'd rate the narrator one star higher than the book.)
I love Louise Penny and have finished all of her books and was waiting for the end of August for her newest, when I came across the author Ann Cleeves. She has quite a few book and several different series. My library only carried her series "Shetland Quartet" of which Raven Black is the first. I was thoroughly captivated by not only her writing style, but her ability to tell a story. I have now read all 4 of the books and they just kept getting better and better. I highly recommend them, but they must be read in order. I am going to be starting another of her series staring Vera Stanhope.
Finished The Crime of Julian Wells and it was great! Cook is getting better and better. Now reading Summer of the Dancing Bear,
Just finished my last book when I was notified that I could download the ebook for Gone Girl from my library, so that's what I'll be reading for the weekend!
I have finished Cage of Bones by Tania Carver. Excellent book by an author I have not previously read. Now have her previous two books and looking forward to reading them. Currently reading Sweet Heart by my favourite author, Peter James.
FINISHED "And When She Was Good," by Laura Lippman. STUNNING! Also read "Stranger in the Room" by Amanda Kyle Williams, featuring distaff private eye Keye Street. Excellent. Keye Street, a Chinese American Atlanta private eye and a recovering alcoholic, can take her place next to Kinsey Millhone and Sharon McCone as a great, classically rendered PI.

Keye Street, a Chine..."Thanks for the tip, I enjoy checking up on the Chinese characters....Will check that one out!
Just started a Jeffery Deaver mystery,
. Enjoying already, as it starts off with a kick and the pace is excellent. Keeping me on the end of my seat.
Just finished:
The Good Thief's Guide To Vegas (Good Thief's Guide #3)
By Chris Ewan.

Let me know how you like Hollywood Station. It is in my stack of books to read.
Just started "The Language of Bees" by Laurie King. Not sure how I missed this promising series on Sherlock Holmes and his very young wife, but it looks good at the start.
Beth wrote: "Let me know how you like Hollywood Station. It is in my stack of books to read."Shall do :)
I finished
. I really enjoyed it. I am now reading
. I hope to read this series from start to finish. The first one is really good so far.
I recently finished The Nervous System by Nathan Larson. I enjoyed it immensely. It's a post-apocalyptic Noir mystery set in a near-future post-imperial America. If you're interested, my review is here.
