I just started watching Dancing with the Stars with my sister this season, so I'm new to the way the judges judge, and so on. Contestants make it to the next round based on the scores they get from the judges or is it based on the viewer's voting? I never really got that....

I was relieved to see it was Nancy Grace to go this week, although, like you, Kathryn, I will miss Tristan. Rob and Hope are so far below the talent of Ricki and J.R. that I am certainly hoping it is one of these latter two that wins it all. I'm thinking it will be Ricki, J.R., and Rob in the finals. Rosie, glad you've joined us in our DWTS discussion. I've been watching this show since it began and look forward to it each time. Some seasons are better than others.
It probably comes down to who is more popular - Rob or Hope since their dancing abilities are similar. I'm betting J.R. will win in the end.

How was it last night? I had to watch a movie so I only saw the first 15 minutes. Rob looked good, looked like JR was having some pain...

I'm satisfied with the three in the finals, J.R., Ricki, and Rob. I felt so bad for J.R. on Monday night when he was having trouble with his ankle, must be so hard to dance in pain. Glad he made it to finals and hope his ankle heals up quickly so that he can be in his usual great form for the finals. I'd love for him to win it all.
I didn't get to see the shows this week but I am glad JR and Ricki are in the finale. I never really thought Rob was *that* good, but the judges always built him up so I'm sure they are satisfied they got him this far. Nothing against Rob, just I liked some of the other dancers more. I wish David was in the finale! I think JR or Ricki should win, though.

I'm glad Hope and Maks are gone - I didn't really care for her. I would be happy if either JR or Ricki wins. Rob did improve but I doubt if he'll win - his scores are just not high enough.
I would really like to see J. R. win because the pros, Derek has won before and Karina has not. I think it will probably be Ricki, J.R. and Rob. I am really sorry to see Rob in the finals. I think he has come on strong, but I think there are others who could have been in the top three that were voted off earlier.

I think JR and Ricki are equally talented, so I agree it would be nice for Karina to win for a change and I would be so happy to see JR holding that mirror ball trophy!

With J.R.'s and Karina's freestyle dance, I think they should definitely be the new champions. I voted the 5 times allotted for them. Really hope they win!
OK, it's down to J.R. or Robb. I can't believe that Ricki got eliminated as third place. She was so much better than Robb. I'm still not taken much with Robb. So hoping that J.R. wins. Will know shortly.

I was surprised Ricki only got third!!! I thought she was a much better dancer than Rob (no offense to Rob, he did improve throughout the season) but I was pulling for JR (and Karina) and am so happy they won. He seemed like such a class act and great guy! And he seemed to bring out the softer side of Karina, which was nice to see.
Now we wait and see who the celebrities are for the next round. Whenever anyone hears, please post them on this thread. Always surprises in the picks.
I'm happy with the line-up, I think. I don't see any stars that I don't like, at least! Mostly ones I've never heard of. "Urkle" and Kim could be fun. Lots of comedy. I hope Gladys Knight will be great and I know she has a good personality so I'm happy she is paired with Tristan (and that he is back) Glad to see Maks and Derek back, too. I am more and more watching for the pros, not the "stars", these days ;-)
I agree, Kathryn. The line-up this time looks pretty good, no "ugh" ones. And, I, too am drawn in by the pros now, loving favorites like Maks, Derek, and Cheryl coming back. Cheryl is certainly paired with a hunk, isn't she? Should be a good season.

Such a pleasant change from Nancy Grace!
The opera singer and Jaleel were awesome. I hope they do as well next week when they change styles. I am glad all the contestants will have a second chance to perform.
I have to say the only big disappointment for me was Melissa Gilbert. I wanted her to do well, especially as she is paired with Maks, but I think she will struggle :-(
Still, all in all, a great night!
Kathryn, I agree with all you said. Gladys and Tristan will be such a joy to watch. Jaleel was amazing! He and the opera singer Katherine are certainly going to be two to watch closely. Cheryl and her hunky partner will be in the top, too. And, yes, I think Melissa Gilbert is definitely going to struggle, and I'm not sure Maks is thrilled with the pairing.
