So um, the judges need to quit putting all the blame on the voters!

Yikes. At least he didn't hurt anyone!
Joy, it just goes to show that no good can come of Bristol making the finals. LOL! Seriously, I'm glad nobody got hurt. Kathryn and Ann, I agree that the judges are partly to blame for Brandy's being voted off by placing her third. I will certainly be voting all the votes I'm allowed on Monday for Jennifer and Derek. And, Ann, Maks did really behave himself very well, didn't he?
Lee wrote: "I wonder why he was enraged. She doesn't usually have sexy costumes or anything."Well, apparently he's both bi-polar and has a drinking problem. I think he was just enraged she has made it that far.
I'm guessing this is from Mak's blog or something? Anyway, it is interesting to hear his thoughts directly from him:http://omg.yahoo.com/news/dancings-ma...
Lee wrote: "Wow, he's much more likeable in the blog. I liked what he said."I like what he said, too. Though I also like him on the show ;-)
Yeah, I was talking with my mom, and I do like Maks. I think he really is a good, decent guy and he appears pretty smart. He's just "passionate" about everything (is that a kind way to say it?). I don't get the feeling there's much 'middle ground' with him. :)
For me, the acceptable winners would be either Jennifer, who is the best dancer, or Kyle, who has grown the most as a dancer and is a hoot to watch.

Thanks, Ann, I enjoyed reading what Maks had to say. He is one of my favorites on the show.
Glad you enjoyed it, too, Kathy:) I like Maks a lot, too. Ever since he had Mel B as a partner I've had a special place in my tv heart for him ;-)

I didn't see tonight! Who won?
I missed the final too. Jennifer was the best dancer so I'm glad she won. I liked Kyle a lot too and I think it's great he came in second.
I was surprised that this thread hadn't been revived for the current season, so I guess I will try and do that. So far, I haven't disagreed with the eliminations. I have been disturbed about the way the judges, especially Len, was treating Ralph Macchio. At least this week, he pleased them. He's one of my favorites. What surprises me most about this time is that I thought I would hate Kirstie Alley being on the show, but I'm actually enjoying her and Maks teaming up.
Susanna wrote: "This season I actually like most of them."Yeah, me too, Susanna. Thanks for joining me here.
Hey Girls, I've been watching too, I'm just a little behind on the episodes because I watch on the web. I'm surprised at how many of the contestants I like too but my fave is Kirstie Ally. She is just so funny and a surprisingly good dancer. I'm really impressed with her and the chemistry between her and Maks is incredible. I keep expecting them to start making out on camera at any moment!
Also another surprise is Ralph Machio. Who would have thought the Karate Kid would have it in him???

I was surprised by Chris Jericho - who would have thought a wrestler could dance? And I've never heard of Romeo before, but he's quite good as well. In fact, each performance gets better and better as the shows goes on - they're all very good!
My favorite is Chelsea Kane. I think she is surprisingly good, vivacious and bubbly, and Mark Ballas is always creative. I was sad Petra got voted out (I thought she was better than either Kendra or Romeo), but more for personal reasons. She was such a nice person. Plus she was injured in the tsunami, and my son and his family were caught up in that, too.
Chelsea has been a pleasant surprise. Never heard of her before this show, but she seems to have a pleasant personality and is a good dancer.Petra was not a great dancer, but had the loveliest personality.
I think Kendra should go next too. And I agree that Petra was a real sweetheart.
It's great that this season there are a number of couples that could win and not just one or two front-runners and a bunch of duds. It makes things much more exciting.

Susanna and Lee, I agree with you that Kendra should be next to go. I think she could probably be a really good dancer, but she just doesn't have the confidence it takes. Of course, Kirstie has had her problems, too. I just enjoy seeing her and Maks, and I think I would miss them being gone.
I hope Kirstie makes it until the end! I love watching the chemistry between her and Maks. They are so entertaining together!

Petra was a really lovely person, and with her grace and beauty, she doesn't need to dance. LOL!
Susanna wrote: "For some reason, the models never seem to do well."Maybe the models are too used to being stiff and mannequin-like for still pictures and runway shows that they have trouble limbering up?
Well, it's sad to see anyone go at this point. I felt Romeo did such an excellent dance and then he got the boot. However, I'm partial to Ralph Macchio, so I'm glad he's still there. Next week is going to be a tough week for those who are left. Should be interesting.
I was just livid with the Len and Bruno last night in their attack on Ralph Macchio's performance. Bruno especially was obnoxious, and Karina called it right in her comments to him. I mean really, they fall all over themselves praising Kirstie Alley, who, let's face it, has limited movements, and can't smear Ralph enough. I'm now with those who think that the judges focus on one particular celebrity to bad mouth and one of limited ability to gush about. Their criticism of Chelsea and Mark has been unwarranted much of the time, too. Again, with Chelsea's ability and moves, she gets criticism and Kirstie doesn't? Absurd. Sorry, I just had to rant about all of this.
Susanna wrote: "And Hines Ward is, to my mind, over-rated."I agree. He has some good moves, but he does them over and over again. He doesn't seem to push the envelope much. I think Ralph and Karina and Chelsea and Mark take risks and push beyond their comfort zone. Hines and Kirstie stay with the same old, same old.
Well, at least Ralph doesn't have to listen to the surly judges anymore. I realize that Kirstie must be a crowd favorite, but the finals? Pleazzzzzzze! I guess, though, that the entertainment value of it all is an important factor.
I don't exactly mind Hines' dancing, but it is a little boring. Same moves pretty much, every week. And I always notice what his partner's doing, more than what he is.For my money, Chelsea Kane is easily the best dancer.

I agree, Susanna. Chelsea is the best. Hope she wins it.
I still think Chelsea was the best dancer, but I guess Hines had a lot of sports fans voting for him. At the end, I actually wanted Kirstie and Max to win because Max hadn't won yet, and I read today that he might not be coming back to Dancing with the Stars.
I figure that Hines won strictly on the basis of the size of the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase. Just look at how many folks showed up at the shows with those stupid yellow towels. (Not a pro football fan.)

Oh no! Is Maks really leaving? I thought Kirstie did a great job and I was rooting for her for many reasons but Chelsea really was the best dancer.
Lee wrote: "Oh no! Is Maks really leaving? There was something I read about him leaving, can't remember where, probably online. He has several dance studios and is opening a new one in LA. Kirstie has encouraged him to pursue acting, too. So, it should be interesting to see what happens. He did sit out another season, so maybe he would just take a break and come back. I hope so. I just love Maks!

MADISON, Wis. — Authorities say a 67-year-old rural Wisconsin man enraged over Bristol Palin's Dancing with the Stars routine blasted his television with a shotgun, leading to an overnight standoff with a SWAT team.
A Dane County Sheriff's detective says in court documents that Steven Cowan, of the town of Vermont, felt Palin was not a good dancer and was only on the show because of her famous mother.
They say Cowan loaded his shotgun and blasted the TV before turning the gun on his wife, who escaped.
Tactical officers surrounded the home and managed to talk Cowan out Tuesday morning.
Cowan was charged second-degree reckless endangerment and could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison if convicted. Authorities say he has bipolar disorder.
