Thanks Elke. I do have fairly eclectic tastes but always willing to try something new. However, I do try to avoid historical romances whenever possible. So Dancing with the Devil is out.

With the romance genre, I've read Strange Bedpersons, and Hot Number. Also, I enjoyed Water for Elephants from the fiction category. I'm going to have to go with either Too Much Temptation or Crazy For You. I might even already own the Crusie book. Since I haven't packed my books for the trip yet, I'm glad you posted early.

Thank you for the great selection.

Wow, that is exactly what I was thinking.., well not the vacationing in Cancun part - but I must say that I am jealous now (hope you are having a great time).

like you I started by looking at your TBR...
If you are at all enjoying Dark Prince, you really should read some more of the Carpathians (I actually liked most of them better than I did the first one).

Dark Desire is #2 or
City of Bones is a very unique YA series.

New to you - (were to start) I also found so many that I wanted to recommend to you, but cut the list to...

YA - Jinx
PNR/UF - Moon Called
Sus - The Cove
Personal Favorite - Garden Spells
e-book - Ember (which is a free e-book at -
http://www.bettiesharpe.com/reads/emb...
just click on the book cover to get a pdf file if you want that one.

Let me know if you don't find something that interests you, I had about 6 more on the tip of my fingers that I almost posted.

Regina Polli | 177 comments Hi, Amelia

We have many books in common!

I have some suggestions from your TBR - books that I liked very much:
Outlander
Dark Protector
Nightkeepers

These I didn´t find in your list, and I think you might like:

A Gentle Rain
Pleasure Unbound
The Sword

If you want some other suggestions, let me know!

message 157: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ | 3901 comments Jessica, you haven't read many books but you have quite a few listed on your TBR shelf. I see you enjoy young adult books so I've chosen a couple new authors for you.

Wondrous Strange (YA)
The Merchant of Death (YA)

From your TBR:
Outlander - probably my most favorite book ever! (historical romance)
Wolf at the Door - excellent werewolf series (paranormal)
Succubus Blues (urban fantasy)

Others I think you might enjoy:
Instead of Twilight, how about an adult vampire novel? This is a humorous one and the first book in the series. A Quick Bite

The Magic Knot - a romance centered around Celtic mythology, pixies, druids and the Tuath de Danaan. (historical/Ireland)

Dark Lover - one of my favorite vampire series. A little over the top but excellent nonetheless. (paranormal)

A Mermaid's Kiss - a terribly romantic story featuring angels and mermaids.

message 158: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (kebrand0112) Kristine. You have quite a few books and I decided to approach this in a few ways.

From your TBR shelf: A Certain Slant of Light.

Fantasy: Wit'ch Fire.
Midnight Never Come

Romance: Slave to Sensation

Other: Her Fearful Symmetry

If you do not like any of these, please message me and let me know. I will come up with more.

Ari (moochew12) | 159 comments Jennefer:
Wow, you gave me some stuff to choose from. Let me go through that and get back to you.=D
Anyways, here is what I found for you. I realized they are basically if not all somehow historical. So I'm totally with you if you are screaming for something else. Just let me know. Ok so here's my list. Not as long as yours. D=
The Scar of David by Susan Abulhawaa- This is a historical novel about a Palestinian family .
Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen- A recipe book! (Organic too!(is that good, for you??)) It has some very factual interesting tidbits in the beginning of it. And some fun recipes too. (You gave me one, so I had to give you one back lol.)
Number the Stars- This is a fictional book on the holocaust. I loved it growing up.
You have a A Bride Most Begrudging on your to read list, and I think you will enjoy it. You seem to enjoy historicals and it is a nice clean read. Most of her books are great, and one of my other favorites is The Measure of a Ladyy, which I’d recommend to you too.
The Face on the Milk Carton This is a light and easy read. It may be a cozy, but not sure.=P It may be to young-adult though. It’s about a girl who grows up in the wrong family when she sees her face on a milk carton. (She's on the carton as a missing child.)
Both Sides of Time- This a historical too. It’s cool because as I remember the girl was able to go back and forth in time. It's also young adult.

When Zeffie Got a Clue- This is a mystery all around a jewelry box. It sounds kinda interesting. Someone comes in with a jewelry box, and she finds some sort of key to a mystery from a few years back or something.

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) Morgan,

After looking through your collection of books, I'm surprised that you haven't read some of these already. Hope you like these selections, but if you don't, just hit me up for another try :)

Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

Touch the Dark by Karen Chance

Storm Born by Richelle Mead

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

message 163: by Kami (new)

Kami (katmiv) Sara, you have quite an impressive, eclectic shelf! I rather enjoyed myself perusing all the titles you've read.

Here are my recommendations:

Sharp Objects: A Novel by Gillian Flynn; I saw a few Steven King novels on your shelf, and while I've never read him, this was probably one of the more "darker" themed books that I've read. I'd classify it as a thriller.

Black Ice by Anne Stuart; I saw quite a few romance novels on your shelf. Anne Stuart is one of my personal favorite romance authors and her romantic suspense Ice series is at the top of my faves list. Black Ice is the first in the series, but can be read as a stand alone.

Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts; I saw some Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb books on your shelf. This is the 1st in her Sign of Seven trilogy. It's got everything one loves and expects from a typical Nora Roberts novel, but with the addition of a more pnr supernatural element involving a curse.

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath; cause I saw you had a lot of classics on your shelf. I, personally, didn't have much luck with this one, but it could have been due to the frame of mind I was in when I read it. Just about everyone else I know who has read this one has loved it completely.

That's all I got for now. If none of these sound like they'd interest you just let me know and I'd be happy to try again. :)

Sharp Objects A Novel by Gillian Flynn Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven, #1) by Nora Roberts The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

booklovinrn | 346 comments KimKirt,

I noticed you have quite a few really good books on your TBR shelf. So I thought I would pick some from your TBR and give you some new ideas. I hope you find these suggestions helpful. If not let me know and I will try again.

TBR SHELF
1. Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson...she tells great stories and this is one of my favs.

2. A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught...just read this in March and loved it.

3. To the Edge by Cindy Gerard...great romantic suspense and sexy men.

4. Bitten by Kelley Armstrong...one of my top 3 PNR authors, must read series.

NEW IDEAS
1. Crazy Hot by Tara Janzen...this is a really fun series with hot men and hot cars.

2. Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty...if you like highlanders you will love this series.

3. Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning...a must read if you love highlanders.

4. Sex, Lies, and Online Dating by Eachel Gibson...a good, fun read.

message 167: by Pollyanna (new)

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Leah

Okay here are my recommendations for you:

TBR list:
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - I really enjoyed this book I gave it 5 stars.
Touch the Dark by Karen Chance I gave this 3 stars but I think based on your read list that you might enjoy this more than I did :)

Other Options:

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton - I find this one of the best vampire series.
Wake by Lisa McMann -one of the best books I have read this year and based on your read list, I'm hoping you will too :)

message 168: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments Wooo Penney, great recommendations, I am having trouble deciding right now, I do have it narrowed down to 3.
Kiss of Midnight
Outlander or
A Kingdom of Dreams

I am going to have to see what is available for me before I make a final decision. (public library, e-book, beg, borrow - I think I will forget the stealing though - but I might just have to buy one) haha =)

Amanda A | 769 comments Angelique,

Here are my recommendations for you. I loved all of these books and I hope you find something that works for you. If not, let me know and I will be happy to try again. :-)

Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Cry No More by Linda Howard
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

message 171: by Angelique (new)

Angelique Anderson | 182 comments Amanda,

From your TBR List:

The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan: I saw that you enjoy reading a lot of YA books and were a fan of the Harry Potter series, and thought you'd enjoy this series just as much.
Evernight - Claudia Gray: This is YA Vampire romance, but it's one of my favorites because of it's unique differences that set apart from other books in this genre.
First Drop of Crimson - Jeaniene Frost: This is spin off from the Night Huntress series. I absolutely loved it, and judging from your picks you should too.
Full Moon Rising - Keri Arthur: This is another paranormal romance that I really enjoyed, though I was a little frustrated by the cliffhanger ending.
Wild Card - Lora Leigh: This was one steamy contemporary romance, just makes me horny thinking about it!

Books Not on Your TBR List:
Scribbler of Dreams - Mary E. Pearson: My last YA recommendation is a contemporary romance about star-crossed lovers. It's one my absolute favorites!
A Girl's Guide to Vampires - Katie MacAlister; This was humorous paranormal romance, it wasn't brilliant but I really enjoyed the hero in this one!
Angels Fall - Nora Roberts: It seems that you, like I, are a Nora Roberts junkie.

NewMoonGirl (Hazel) (newmoongirl88) | 16 comments Hey Diane

Thankyou for the book recommendations! :)
I have decided to go with something thats not on my TBR list & be adventurous after seeing your list of suggestions I have picked to read Summon the Keeper by Tanya Huff & if I get time I will also read Heart Mate by Robin D. Owens.

Heres my recommendations for you Diane.

From your TBR list
Marked House of Night by P.C Cast & Kristen Cast

Others
Her Sanctuary by P.Q Glisson

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

The Dead House by Anne Cassidy

My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent

Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

I hope you can find something that you might like from my recommendations, if not just let me know & I will try again :)

Happy Reading!

message 174: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Hi Cathy!

Thanks for the recs! I really want to read Bitten so if I can find it at the used book store or library I'm going to try that one. I'll let you know for sure which one I get. Thanks!

My recommendations for you:

From your TBR list:

Either A Rose in Winter or The Wolf and the Dove. Or actually anything by Kathleen Woodiwiss, I've read all her years ago.

Other recommendations:

Water for Elephants. I really enjoyed this book, very different, focuses on a sideshow traveling circus and its characters.

The Book Thief I notice a lot of people recommend this book and I have to jump on that bandwagon. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hitler era.

Any of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. These are what I would consider beach reads. Just light, fluffy novels about the life of a female bounty hunter and her many mishaps.

Misery by Stephen King. This is one of my favorite books by Stephen King (and they did a great job with the movie). If you're up for a little horror/suspense, this is a good one.

I notice you really don't have any historical romances on your list, so I'm going to recommend Suddenly You. I really like the alpha male character in this one.

The genres you and I read are quite different, so I hope you can find something that appeals to you from my recs!

message 175: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Ahrcadia

Not on your selves;
Witch Heart (Elemental Witches, Book 3) or any of the Elemental witch books you do not have to go in order.Witch Heart

Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #1) refers a little to Greek/Spartan/Rome myths/history which I always find fun. A long the same lines as the Lords of the Underworld series ; Gods, punishment and curses

A push from you TBR/whislist; (if you decide on the last one I would read them with you)

The Everworld seriesSearch for Sennais great compared to what you read you could probably read all 13 books really quiet. It to refers a lot to mythology with the authors personal twist on the stories. Each book is told by one of the characters you meet at the beginning. You do have to read this in order. The characters change as they go along with references from previous books.

First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) First Drop of Crimson

You have so much more to pick from then I do so I hope these are good suggestions if not let me know.

Morgan

Here are four books that I did not see on any of your lists.

A bit outside of your normal genre from what I saw.
