I am an author (not a kid). My 'kid' will turn 21 the 21st of this month and has a master's degree from Wheaton College. She is a reader.

Fragile Eternity (Lovely Wicked series) and The Search for the Real Self.
Second one is more of a clinical psychology book. Both good so far.

A Darkling Plain by Phillip Reeve, it's the last in the Hungry City series and so far good, I liked Mortal Engines best but the harkens to that does improve my opinion of it. Unfortunately by certain means I've heard the ending is...bad.
