message 160: by Kasia (new)

Kasia One really thick book is still one book. BUT it's a chunkster, so it counts for this challenge. And if you can find an edition that's over 800 pages, you could go for the

Mor-book-ly Obese with the option of reading three tomes of 800 pages or more. Or not, just a suggestion.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Well, book number two of eight is done. Two other books of over 400 but less than 450 (as well as some slimmer novels) also fell in there as well. Been a busy month. Looks like I'll hit 20 books total and two were over the 'hefty' mark.

I haven't written my review yet because I'm letting it settle for a day or two before I set it to print. Yes, I'm going to say that I liked it. I'm on the fence between 3-4 stars. I like Jim a lot. For the most part I like the plot. There are a couple deus ex machina moments that I could have done without. And there were two major points that had me scratching my head. After you are done, I'll be happy to talk about those points. Still, I thought it was interesting how it had the characters from BDB popping up in the story without actually being players on this stage.

I've committed to several chunky re-reads for the next few months (BDB series and Outlander series), and I always feel cheated when I finish a book and it's not on a list for me to scratch it off. Now I have a challenge to include them, Yay! Plus I have several other big'uns that have been my TBR for almost two years that I've been avoiding due to their length; this challenge will give me some initiative to get through them. ;)
