"Authors" Needing help

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/84...
I hate them, but they have pages and text so I think they're still books.

I've been working on this for awhile & am burned out. Haven't found an actual William S. Wilson yet, many were other Wilsons, some not even Wilson at all.

Also, "John" ... that's a hot mess, as the kids say these days. ;) The LoC seems to use "John Paul II, Pope, 1920-2005" in its catalogue. On Goodreads would we use "John Paul II"? (I think there are at least four profiles for this pope, under different name/title variations. Maybe more.)

I'm pretty sure some of the books listed here are a different Betty Smith. Possibly more than one, since so many genres are represented. Amusing to imagine the canonical writer of growing up in New York stories also covering Warwickshire. :-)
ETA: I found this useful link at LibraryThing: http://www.librarything.com/author/sm...
Apparently there are five of them. Oy!

1. http://www.katethompson.info/books.asp Kate Thompson
2. http://www.kate-thompson.com/ Kate Thompson
3. ?
I think I've separated most of #2's books out, but can't be sure. Don't really know about 3-?

Sadly, the corporate author (the American Society for Cell Biology) does not seem to provide a complete list. The best I've been able to find are the Worldcat series listing and this Amazon list, which may or may not have duplicates and/or false positives.
One note: if you decide to work on this, and you add Leslie Wilson to a book's author listing, make sure that it's Leslie^^^Wilson, as there are five other authors by the same name.
Another issue: Many of these books seem to have Kindle editions, but because the author listings are not congruent, they are not always combined in the GR database.
I don't know if this is something it might be better to punt on until we have series objects in Goodreads proper, but I thought I'd put it out there.

There's no special "role" for screenwriting, yes? (Because I don't see it as one of the ones listed)
*I think someone already fixed it because Owen Wilson is down for co-writing both of the screenplays listed.

Candida Höfer
And, of course, Collectif and Collectifs. (Knowledge of French probably helpful.)

and wanted to drop a note in here before logging off for the night.
Looks like No Author got removed at some point (probably had been emptied and merged) but I put it back.

EDIT: Thanks, Paula, for getting Brian Thompson! :) (And C.G. McKay.)

Actually, decoding the author list from Amazon isn't too bad, if you go back there to find the bits that got cut off. I fixed that one.

Agreed, but when there is not an alternative, they can be a decent source of info, especially for something like this.
Brontes
Bronte Bronte
** EDIT: Sorry, I forgot I can merge them with any other Brontë profile that's correct. Done! Getting there slowly but surely. :)
Don't know how to handle this one:
Bronte
It has a book that I don't know. It has ISBN but WorldCat doesn't know it. GoogleBooks finds a hit but no further info, same on Amazone (which is the source).
This site refers to the author as EMI Bronte. It's rather a long shot to dedicate it to Emily Brontë, I think. Hope to find a Brontë lover here to help out!
Any sugestions?
(Hopefully I found the right thread for this post!)

I checked Worldcat for books called Brass Halo and found a couple. However, this one is called that and was published by Signet. I went ahead and made the change in the database.
