Rosalie Sambuco | 25 comments I would love to join your group. I am an avid reader. Usually I read historical fiction but I have been known to read other genres. I live in Ohio and I am a retired/disabled first grade teacher. I have been married for 45 years and we have 2 adult children. I also like to read more than one book at a time. Currently I am reading THROUGH A GLASS DARKLY, THE HONEY THIEF, and THE PIANO TEACHER.

message 158: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 1 comments Hi! My name is Kathy and I am from CInicnnati. I love to read obviously. I'm in a book club at work but wanted to get to know more people and their opinions of books. I also wanted to be exposed to books that I might not have heard about otherwise. I'm looking forward to this.

message 159: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** wow this is really my first time looking back at introductions since I first posted when I joined the group. It's so nice to read back and get an idea of the people I have been talking to the last month. See everyone's names all the time but not really know who they are or where they are from. I have to remember to come back. Nice to "meet" everyone. I really enjoy talking with you all through the discussions. Hope everyone enjoys the group as much as I do. Major thumbs up to Elyssa!!

message 160: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome Kathy! We all hope you feel welcome here. Enjoy everything book related here and have fun. Kick back and have a glass of wine and meet some new bookies. I know I've found a lot of books to look forward to reading that I normally wouldn't of found.

I'm glad you are enjoying the group so much, Carla.

message 161: by Lani (new)

Lani (lani14) Hey everyone
My name is Lani and I love to read and probably like a lot of you I was reading before I went to school. I love the classics like Austen and the Brontes, Vern some Dickens etc. The thing is I found them after I got out of school. I got bored with popular fiction and it's amoral characters. I want good to triumph over evil not mostly good over maybe evil. Give me happily ever after. I read to escape. I read to learn but I don't read to feel the same as I do when I read or watch the news.
I do read popular fiction but I try to be selective.
Sorry didn't mean to rant.

Looking forward to some livily discussions

message 162: by [deleted user] (new)

message 180: by T J (new)

T J Flynn | 3 comments It's a book called Princes of Pigskin. I'm currently finishing final proofs on a book I've ghost written (something I said I would never do, but the story was just too good to let go) called Screaming at the Sky. Published by Random House on May 27.
The 'Big Novel' is the beast I tackle after this!!

message 191: by Josh (last edited Apr 25, 2010 08:55PM) (new)

Josh (joshpilarsh) hey all! i'm a little late on the bandwagon, apparently, lol. i just joined goodreads today and i saw your group and decided to join!
i'm a twenty year old (well, almost, i'll be twenty in june) guy from southeastern michigan that honestly used to sneak out of the house to ride my bike to the library to find a new book to read... weird, right? hahaha :)
i can be oppinionated at times but love debates/discussions about books and their contents. i am a christian and will stand by that, but i don't judge others, i promise.

message 192: by [deleted user] (new)

hi everyone! :)) i'm pretty new at goodreads and i've only started focusing on my account lately, since i had school until around three weeks ago haha
i'm erika and i come from the philippines. i'll read anything, but i collect young-adult books :D i enjoy movies and music, and i love writing, too :)

message 193: by Elizabeth☮ (new)

Elizabeth☮ welcome to the group erika and josh! feel free to jump into any discussion you deem worthy and discussions of your own.

message 194: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 26, 2010 09:03AM) (new)

Yes, welcome to the bandwagon, Josh and Erika. The group is pretty active so dive right in.

Thanks for finding us.

message 195: by [deleted user] (new)

Right now we have a poll going on for our May 15th to June 14th group read. It is tied right now. Help break the tie and have your say all at the same time.

message 196: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm good with reading both.

They are tied again at 8 votes each! Looks like reading them both might be in order.

message 197: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Or you could do a poll as a tie breaker and see if that breaks the tie? Just a thought.

message 198: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm up for what ever everyone else wants. The tie breaker poll is a very good idea.

message 199: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) i agree good idea jencey C=
