I finally finished Deathly Hallows. I really took my time with it, I had this bittersweet feeling while reading it (again). After DH pt.2 (the movie) comes out, I don't know what I'll do. No more Potter. :( But I am so excited to see the movie. They started showing tv spots for the trailer on tv now!
I just finished
and it was good. Not wow but good. The mystery portion was interesting. There is no romance to speak of. I'm starting the next book in the series
Highly recommend this book. A young apprentice to Da Vinci is accused of a crime and is punished by being sent through a door that is a time machine into the future. He meets a girl and drags her into his world in which he is forced to have to travel back and forth between the modern world and a world without time to keep his life in balance. He doesn't have much control over the way things happen, which reminds me a bit of Shiver for some reason.
Great love story, interesting concept of time travel.
I liked that I was sucked into the book almost right away.
*edit* This is a trilogy, books 1 and 2 are out right now. Will get to book 2 soon, hopefully.
I just finished Lover Awakened, book 3 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and really liked it. Zsadist was such an interesting character. My only criticism of the series so far is the parts with the lessers (bad guys) were a bit boring and didn't seem to work into the rest of the story very much. I'm now on book 4 Lover Revealed and I'm finding it more enjoyable when I just skim the parts with the lessers.
^^ You'll find a lot of people do that. Stacia that looks interesting. I might have to add it. I have a book on my tbr list here that is a YA book with a similar concept,
.
Two Moon Princes is one that I looked at to read as well.I did the skim thing with book 1 of BDB and just went straight to the love story. It's funny that in some books you skim the love story when the action is good, and in some books you skim the action when the love story is better. My guess is that after reading your post, Lani, I'll be doing more skimming in future books.
Oh, and I didn't stress that Hourglass Door is mainly a love story (featuring a cute hero that speaks Italian), and it is YA. The time travel is a big part of it, but the love story is prominent.
I finished
and it was up to par with Evanovich's shenanigans. It's really not to paranormal, but it had some fun moments. The ending what a quasi one and I think it was because it was obvious there would be more. Not sure I liked that though.
Oh, I have Still Missing on my tbr list too. It's amazing how many books there are that look good. Sometimes I wish that I could split myself in half and send practical me to do the mundane stuff while the real me reads books.
You can do that Stacia, just get some audio books. I always have one going, but if I have a big project to do around the house, I make sure to have a couple. I think by listening to the audio's I read an extra 2-3 books a week depending on length.
I'm trying to listen to Brisingr, but I can't do it. I can't seem to listen to them around the house. I'm only listening to it in the car on trips more than 30 minutes long. I feel like it's too easy for me to get distracted and stop listening and then I have to figure out where I was if I'm trying to do things around the house.
Maybe I'll do that first and see if I like it a lot. :) It's $9.99 as an ebook and I have a gift card so I'm thinking of just getting it. . .decisions decisions. . . :D
I just read the prologue for the new WoT book,
(they sell the prologues as they are pretty long, this one was 88 pages). It was great, I even had shivers near the end. I love when I get that involved.
Just read the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. The first one was eh, but the second and third picked up. Loved the chemistry in the last one Every Which Way But Dead. Going to start City of Bones tonight.
Jess, Every Which Way But Dead isn't the last book they have 8 Rachel Morgan books out just so you are aware :)
I finished The Alchemyst. I enjoyed the universe Scott put together and most of the characters. Josh was a bit too whiny and he needed to keep he mouth shut on many occasions. Josh's jealousy issues were ridiculous, but jealousy usually is. Scatty was cool.

Paula, I'm glad you liked it. I couldn't really get into that series, but I've had a few people swear by it. I had to stop in the middle of book 2. I hope one day I'll be able to finish it though.

I just didn't want ya to miss out on the rest of one of my favorite series if you had been enjoying it :)
I'm only finished up to book 3. I keep trying to sneak them in as I get time.
I finished
. It was an interesting romance. Better than the first Fever book, but room for improvement.

Heather the second one isn't all that much better. I am listening to the 3rd and so far it is a little boring. The only reason I keep reading is because people say with #4 the series really picks up. I am hoping so.

Thanks! I think I am in love with Kisten!
Heather, I liked The Alchemyst, but I'm having trouble getting through The Magician. It is moving so slowly. Of course, I've read less than 100 pages and it's not horrible. Just a bit boring. Hope the story picks up the pace.

Since you're in a couple of groups that I'm in, do you remember seeing that somewhere too or am I just losing it?
I think Kelley Anne posted it in "Who's your author" group....I gave up on book two and went straight to #4
They did say that Stacia, but I have an issue with that. So I keep plodding through them. I have been listening to them lately and it is easier to do that with the audio.
I kind of liked book 1. I get that it's not great, but I managed to get into it faster than Fever. Maybe book 2 will suck. I'll find out next month I guess.

I can't skip. There's only 1 book where I can actually tell someone to skip it - Disappearing Nightly. It was BORING. Book 2 was hilarious and it recaps everything that was significant in book 2. I accidentally read them out of order so that's why I know it's not going to be confusing out of order.
I finished Holiday in Death by J.D. Robb last night. I absolutely love this series! When I picked them up I thought they would be a nice light easy read but they are even better then that. I just want to keep gobbling them up!
Finished Faefever and Dreamfever...EVIL EVIL! I am glad I had Dreamfever around, but the ending has me reeling! I have an idea of who the Beast was/is, but am not too sure.... Anyway, I am now waiting until January to read the conclusion. UGH!
Angela wrote: "I only read like a chapter of storm glass which was the spin off before putting it down because I found out the the Study series came first, and it was so different that it seems hard to believe th..."YOu dont meet Opal the main character of Glass series until book two of Study.

Thanks!
I finished
it was pretty good over all. I personally liked the first story in the book more then the 2nd. I don't know if I will ever read Volume 2, we shall see. Overall I'm not sure I like the whole fallen angel concept
has anyone read the Nicki Styx series that starts with
? I'm trying to fill in my a-z books and the third in this could be my Y book which I still need and the 1st couple books are rated highly

hmmm maybe I shall have to read them to fill in this challenge since we can only have 1 cheat if I am remembering right, I can't find an X Y Z that I want for the life of me
You would want to read these ones in order, as there are certain things that happen that build in the later books.
I always read everything in order :) so I would have 2 extra books to do if I chose that book but of well :)
