Why don't you like Harry Potter. Sure, he sometimes is a bit selfish and stuff, but I like him.
I wouldn't go as a far as to say he's amazing. He has made some pretty bad choices, but don't we all?
I don't think there's a comparison in main characters. Both are somewhat realistic, somewhat flawed angsty teenagers with tragic backstories. Both are cool in my book.

I don't think there's a comparison in main characters. Both are somewhat realistic, somewhat flawed angsty teenagers with tragic backstories. They both have to lead a group of people against oppression. They both struggle with their love life (although Katniss does more). Both are cool in my book.

The Hunger Games wins MARGINALLY, I love Harry Potter...but I love the Hunger Games more, probably because I'm an American female XD

I love the Hunger Games books (not sure how good the movie is going to be) but I loooveee the Harry Potter movies! Soooo.... both? :3

They are both totally amazing, but I would have to say that Harry Potter is better than the hunger games, mostly best Mockingjay was such a disappointment to me.
The Hunger Games! In Harry Potter they KILL DOBBY! That is not ok! Plus I never read the Harry Potter books, although I've seen all of the movies. Ugh. Seriously 8 movies!!

Officially, THG is sci-fi because of the hovercrafts, some of the Capitol technology, et cetera. Not much, but it's there.
