Akrisios tripped in his flight from the commons. His jaw was sore, as was his pride. "It's her fault, you know." He hissed to Avalon. "All she ever does is tell me about the sort I hang out with. I've never spoken like that about her family, about the ones she loves. She obviously doesn't care if she can't see what they've done for me." The owl turned his head and peered down the dimly lit corridor. Akrisios let out a shallow breath. "Sure, dark and dingy. It suits me, or everyone else seems to think so." He followed the lights toward a deeper darkness than was held in the hallways. The further he moved, the faster his keep was restored.

Caleb stood up from the chair and stood by Medea, leaning against the heavy table. His face showed sympathy. "That must've been really hard," he said quietly. "I can't imagine losing Avery that way," he added the "that way", because in a way Avery was lost to him. He gave her arm a reassuring squeeze, then pulled his hand back towards himself.
