YAY!! You found us! :) Welcome to the group, Taryn.
The group is set up and well organized. There are threads for all her books, threads that give the reading order... just take a peek around!

Welcome, Taryn. You might start with her Travis series, since it's contemporary. Warning: the first book is kind of more chick lit/women's fiction, but it's very good:

1. Name Talkit
2. What are your favorite Lisa Kleypas books? Dreaming of You, Devil in Winter, Suddenly You, Tempt me at Twilight & Again the Magic…etc...
3. Who's your favorite Lisa Kleypas hero and heroine? Couple? Derek & Sara and Sebastian & Evie
4. What do you like about Lisa Kleypas books? Funny thing is she writes a lot of themes that I really don’t like…gypsy, spy, amnesia, and bookish hero. And yet she has me loving these characters!!! When I pick up one of her books and there is mention of a character from another book…I feel like I’ve come home to a community that I know and everyone else knows everyone. Another thing I love about her writing is she can make me burst out laughing, groan in despair, and turn beet red with embarrassment. She is one of the most talented authors writing today.

Ditto!

Hmmm...Carol maybe I will have to give E. Hoyt another try. I have only read one of her books (To Beguile A Beast) and I couldn't really connect with the characters. What's your fav of hers?

Talkit, I'm reading her Maiden Lane series at the moment and IMO they are her best books so far. Read the first two books in the series

On the challenge thread on the DHASG.

I'm Audrey. I've only read two Lisa Kleypas books so far (Then Came You and Dreaming of You), but I can already tell that, um, she is AWESOME. :) Evidence of my obvious obsession: I've already bought (and have waiting to be read) eBay lots of the Wallflowers and Hathaways series, along with a few individual titles, including Suddenly You.
My first Kleypas book was actually DOY, which I read out of order, obviously. I just finished TCY last night and immediately went into a reread of DOY.
I can't really say if I have a favorite at this point because I've only read those two. However, I loved both heroes. Alex is probably my ideal - strong, fiercely protective, in touch with his feelings, enamored of his h's every move. Derek is amazing, too, though, and his struggle with his feelings makes for a compelling read. As for heroines, Sara in DOY is fine, but Lily in TCY is fantastic. She just seems so real and alive, making mistakes, giving off sass, and facing down whatever life brings her.
I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I think I liked TCY marginally better than DOY. We'll see if that opinion changes after my reread, however.
Looking forward to chatting about all things Kleypas with you!

Oh, just wait until you've read more of Lisa's books. You won't be able to name just one favorite!

Just finished up my reread of DOY and couldn't help crying at the end...again. Such a good book. I loved seeing more of Lily and Alex, too.
I have a whole bunch of Kleypas to catch up on, but I think I might take a break to plow through a pile of library books. Can't wait to catch up with you ladies soon on all things Kleypas!

Also, to those of you who suggested Elizabeth Hoyt, just wanted to +1 that recommendation. I really liked her writing.

2. Devil In Winter :) its my all time favorite
3. Evangeline Jenner and Sebastian St.Vincent
4. I think them excelent pieces of literature. I LOVE historical romance, however, I'm so very picky. Lisa has always delivered for me in that category. There is actual romance, decent story lines, beautiful love making scenes. AND. She does a good job of making a LIKEABLE heroine. Her heroine has weaknesses and they have many strengths, they are not domineered or controlled by men who just know everything. The relationships are partnerships while still holding true to the stipulations of the time period. Wonderful reading experience with LK

THANKS!!! such a swift welcome lol, I can't wait to be active in this group.

This is such a fun group! It's really well organized so you should be able to easily find anything you're looking for. We have group reads, buddy reads, a games folder and the monthly Not Too Challenging Challenges, too!
