Yay! I'm so excited that I passed my goal! I also read some awesome books this month, my favorite being Snow Flower and the Secret Fan followed closely by Her Fearful Symmetry. I'm really glad I signed up for this challenge, it has helped me focus on getting books off my TBR pile and introduced me to some great new authors!

Donnajo Johnna, I agree since I signed up I'm getting though alot more books so far anyway this month (it's a start) and I've noticing alot of authors I never even heard of and there wasn't too many that I thought I didn't know. I'm a big buying bookaholic and always looking for someone new.

Johnna (looktothepast) | 54 comments 14. Best Friends Forever: A Novel by Jennifer Weiner
15. A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick

Wow, I had heard great reviews of A Reliable Wife, and it definitely didn't disappoint! Very well written, very fast paced, with lots of surprise twists and turns. A wealthy businessman in 1907 Wisconsin advertises for "a reliable wife." Both Catherine and Ralph are searching for a new beginning, each bringing a painful past with them. This was a love story like no other, an amazing story of murder and vengeance and passion and above all else, love. I will be looking for his next book!

Donnajo When I was in Borders the last time they were pushing A Reliable Wife and I bought it but haven't read it yet. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it so at least I know when I pick it up to read.

message 9: by Johnna (new)

Johnna (looktothepast) | 54 comments I actually picked it up because of a Borders ad too, and my Mom was shopping at Borders the same day, different city, and bought it as well. She read it that day and LOVED it. I loved his writing style, really sucked me in and made the book read super-fast.

Donnajo There is a women at Borders that when she sees me she always comes over and talks to me and tells me books she read she thinks I would enjoy. Alot of them are hcs which I haven't been buying lately but I kind of keep it in the back of my mind and watch for when it comes to pb. I'll also ask her if she heard anything on other books. She was the one that told me about Reliable Wife so I bought it and the last time there I heard other's talking about it. I should pull it out to read soon. But with so many books when I buy new books I seem to let them sit for awhile and keep working on older ones. Not that the piles will ever go down too much but it kind of helps weed out the older ones that been around forever.
