I loved Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi and Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Heist Society by Ally Carter was also fun. And while it isn't quite YA (though could be), Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok was fabulous.

Perfect Chemistry has been my favorite book read in the past month. It may be the standard boy and girl from opposite sides of the tracks get together but it is so well done the reader finds it easy to root for the characters and get drawn into the drama.

I enjoyed "The Beckoners" by Carrie Mac. It's not too new, but I really enjoyed that its characters truly don't have a clear moral concious...it's about survival, just like any young reader would want to encounter. There's a comraderie between a normal kid and an imperfect heroine. I like the lack of pandering and preachiness, too. : )

I read The Summoning and The Awakening and Linger. I really liked all of them. Right now I am reading Gone by Michael Grant which seems to be good so far. Very intriguing. My daughter is the one who generally picks out the books I read.

I have read several books this month but so far the best was the Truth about Forever and Lock and Key both by Sarah Dessen. so far I have only read three books from her and the one I'm currently reading Someone like you and i can truthfully say that anyone would love any book they read by her.I can't wait to read more books by Sarah Dessen!!<333

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen is a good book.
Mockingjay was awesome! I just finished it yeterday.
Unwind by Neal Shusterman is one of my favorites.
The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning is a good series.
My absolute favorite series the the Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow (Lilith Saint Crow). Strange Angels, Betrayals and Jealousy are out so far in that series.
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green is hilarious.
(On the) Jellicoe Road by Melina marchetta is one of my favorite books ever, but you have to get throught the first 135 pages cause it is really confusing, then it all comes together. Then you have to go back and read it again. Oh the list goes on.......

Hmm this is a tough one but I definitely liked The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson (loosely based on Sleeping Beauty) and I really liked Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles!

Healer's Apprentice is a sweet, romantic tale with a great message that anyone in their early teens or older (I'm 25 LOL) would love!

Perfect Chemistry is raw and gritty and gives a glimpse of life for a gang member and a girl who has it all. Since there's strong language, alcohol/drug use and sexual innuendos I'd recommend this for more mature readers.

I just finished The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson, and I loved it. It's a retelling of Sleeping Beauty, but set in medieval Germany. The heroine, Rose, falls hard for the son of the local duke, but her low-born status makes romance with him look impossible. A hint of dark magic, a strong dose of romance and a divine plan of happily ever after made this one of my new faves.The Healer's Apprentice

Renee, I agree with you----YA readers will love both and not for the cliches which they probably won't get but because of the author's writing about her characters, their cultures, their masks they show to the world and ultimately how they defy the odds and get together!

I just finished Before I Die by Jenny Downham. It was really great. A heartwarming and tragically sad story about a young womans life.

My fave in the last month was Stolen: A letter to my captor . Really good. Girl is kidnapped and kind of gets Stockholm Syndrome, where she starts to side with her kidnapper.

If you like Hush, Hush, you should read Fallen by Lauren Kate. Same genre. I liked Hush, Hush but I probably liked Fallen more. And the sequel, Torment, recently came out too.
