LOVED THAT BOOK TOO
LOVED THAT BOOK TOO
Go Ask Alice I just read go Ask Alice. it was amazing and life changing. Most people's descriptions are "it's about a girl who gets addicted to drugs..." but it's sooo much more than that. it's the diary to a teen age girl who questions life, love and the people around her. She tries desperatly to find her place as she experiments with drugs, sex, and not-so-trustworthy friends. I think that anyone going into high school should read it.
Divergent, by Veronica Roth. Amazingly it is her debut novel. Really liked it! First in a trilogy. Can't wait for the next one.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman. This was an amazing book. As Mia tries to decide what to do next, as the family she loves is gone. It is surprisingly an uplifting story, as we experience flashbacks throughout her life before the accident, where the reader learns about a happy, loving family, that is connected; something that is often taken for granted in today's society. Makes the reader appreciate life. Very excited for the sequel.
Nothing by Janne Teller--an artistically disturbing
book about kids defining what exactly is "meaningful" to them-- a must read

A Kiss In Time by Alex Flinn- It was better than Beastly and I honestly thought nothing could top that!
I'm reading this and I spent a lot of my time in waiting rooms and in the metro yesterday, I'm already at half the book. Very easy to dive in.
Terry, I got this to review and passed it to a student to review for me--I hope they enjoy it like you!
just finished my blood approves series by hocking. i must say that when there are more action in the 3 rd and 4 th series.... but bit lacking in the spice and romance. need more peter plzzzz
Delirium,is the best book I have read in quite a while, also Anna and the French kiss, even though the name is silly, it s a great book.
Hmmm. My favorite recent reads are Will Grayson, Will Grayson (you will never EVER go wrong with John Green and David Levithan), Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers (it's my first book I've read of her and I wasn't disappointed like I initially thought I'd be), Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Levithan and Rachel Cohn (all the books of these two are AMAZING), and Going Bovine (probably my all-time YA favorite; Libba Bray is the funniest person ever.
I didn't read as much books as I wanted to this month but I read quite a few to know that my favorite had to be Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
The last book I really liked was
I am reading
and am really liking it so far but I'm not quite finished so you never know.

This month hasn't really been a good month for books, so all I got is Darkness Becomes Her.It was okay. Too many supernatural elements thrown into one book. I feel like it could have been way better though, cause the premise was pretty interesting.
I'm not sure how, but I've kind of stopped reading current YA books although I just read a very good graphic novel--Yummy: Life of Southside Shorty. I also just read Tantalize. I'm my to read list is Jane by April (?) Linder. It's a modern take on Jane Eyre.
Finished
and liked it a lot. It's different from the supernatural novels I've been reading. The premise is that she enters people's dreams. She tries to learn to control her entry and interaction with the dream. I'm not sure I'm going to continue the series because I have so much else to read.
My favorites for this month are: Delirium by Oliver, The Body Finder by Derting, The Sky is Everywhere by Nelson, Glimmerglass by Black, Bruiser by Shusterman, Glimpse by Williams and Ship Breaker by Bacigalupi.

Especially Bruiser and The Sky is Everywhere, so good! I'm just about to start Ship Breaker, how was it?
I recently read Wakeand Stolen: A letter to my captorand highly recommend them both. I'm listening to Matchednow and so far it is very good. I'm about half way through and can't wait to get to the end.
The Everyday Living of Children & Teens Monologues is a great book. There is also a free download for it as well on good reads. The link is listed below.http://www.goodreads.com/ebooks/downl...

Nothing which is a Printz honor book. It is powerful, frightening and comparable to Lord of the Flies. It stays with you long after you finish it.
Kasia wrote: "I'm finally getting a chance to read 'Paper Towns' by John Green...great read so far!"Another fan of "Paper Towns"....make that two fans! It was recommended to me by a student. So far, every one of Green's books has been been a winner!
