Leanne (readingislove) | 3 comments I received a good amount of borders and barnes and noble gift certificates from my students. So, I'm looking for recommendations on teen books that I NEED to check out. :)

Feel free to recommend 1 or 100. :)

Robyn Hawk (aflyonthewall) | 15 comments Leanne - you didn't mention the age of your teens:

if 12-14:
John Green - "Papertowns", "An Abundance of Katherines"
Riordan's Olympians Series

Older teens will love:
Graceling & Fire
The Mortal Instruments Series
Hunger Games & Catching Fire

I would love to see a teacher use "The 13th Child" by Wrede as a look at history with a twist.

Being a mother, the suffering of that poor girl and the sick stuff that predator did to her, I think I gave it 3 stars.

Tripmastermonkey The Rock and the River should be read by teens/librarians interested in an accessible look at the civil rights movement and why some people looked to new political visions (from such groups as the black panther party). This book is not a cold political tract, but filled with emotion. Check it.

Chayil Champion (drchampion) | 1 comments Hello, all-
I'm new to goodreads, but I am also an author who just released a new book titled "Lost Soul: The Perilous Pedagogy of Tajalik Stokes". It is available through Amazon or you can order it at your local bookstores such as Barnes&Nobles. Without giving too much away, I will say it is a short novel with great messages and lessons for teens, young adults, teachers, and parents. I hope you all get a chance to read it. When you do, let me know what you think. :)
