Steph (angel4492) | 386 comments I just finished reading books 1-5 of BDB in the past 4-5 days and OH BOY am I itchin' to read the rest!

But, if I could just keep my hands off the Brothers :::sigh::: I just might be able to finish this month's challenges.... LOL Is there a BDBA(nonymous) group? Might have to join! "Hi, My name is Steph and I think I'm becoming a BDB addict ..." "Hi, Steph...." Maybe I can stretch out the last 2 books, insider's guide & short stories long enough so that I don't go into serious withdrawals between now and April 2010 when John's story, Lover Mine, comes out.

:::sighs:::

Moving onto to The Hunger Games. I have a feeling I might just be replacing one addiction with another, since so many people have told me how they couldn't get enough of this series as well.

Man, having an addictive, OCD-ish personality is definitely not a good thing when it comes to books, true?! :::laughing while shuffling shitkickers quickly away from the remaining BDB books::: :)

From one BDB addict to another, I pretty much understand your predicament.

Here aressome suggestions on how to "enable" your addiction:

Are you a member of the GR BDB group? If not, go ahead and join.

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...

You should sign up for the Warden's official discussion board. You can find this at her website.

You can also join the very active BDB Yahoo Group.

Get a copy of the Insider's Guide and read it in portions until JM's book come out.

Check out her other new series, by reading Covet.

That should keep you busy....LOL!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I've had book one of the BDB sitting here for over a month. One of these days I'm sure I'll start drinking the Kook-Aid too.

Shannon (theholyterror) | 303 comments I finished Divine Misdemeanors (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton last night, here's my review if anyone is curious, and now I'm starting The Dead Girls' Dance (The Morganville Vampires, #2) by Rachel Caine . I read the first Morganville book a while ago and I can't remember what happened at the end. I think I have to dig it out and read the last few chapters to refresh. I hate when that happens.

I would like to hear a male's POV on this whole BDB madness.... LOL!

I don't suppose book one qualifies for one of the challenges for this month? Maybe May-December or something. Then I'd have that extra bit of motivation.

Well, in the discussion thread, it was agreed upon that centuries-old vampire and normal-life span human pairing is, in a way, a May-December affair... : )

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Yz: I like that pairing...but that's just me =D.

Steph (angel4492) | 386 comments Thanks for the suggestions, Yz. I'm going to do all of those :::already showing signs of early withdrawal::: and hope it helps take the edge off. LOL :)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Finally finished Dogs and Goddesses last night. It took me longer than a week to get through this. Granted, I had some other things going on, but I don't remember the last time I took so long to read something.

At times funny and at times choppy. I liked some of the characters and disliked others. Some of the dialog was believable and some just fodder for groans. I guess that is what happens when you have three authors working on the same storyline.

As the story goes, in 1929, an archeologist dug up a Mesopotamian temple and woke up the seven sleeping priestesses within. He moved the whole thing to Ohio where the priestesses set about waking up the goddess within. Skip ahead a couple of generations and the goddess returns.

The current generation of priestesses includes Abby, Daisy, and Shar as our heroines. Since the dogs all are characters as well, we have Bowser, Bailey, and Wolfie. Finally as heroes we have Christopher, Noah, and Sam respectively. Add another dozen or so characters and dogs and there is really quite the crew involved.

All in all, I liked it. A bit far fetched and choppy, but overall, fairly fun.

Besides, it qualifies for a D book or an Ohio book.

do you know what's up with this series? in The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) this series is described as a trilogy--obviously that changed because you are reading book #4. do you know why?

No, I don't know why it's described as a trilogy. It isn't one. I know she has more books coming out in the series.

On the very first page, it says:

"Dear Reader,

I'm thrilled to present my brand-new paranormal trilogy, LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD, which begins with The Darkest Night..."

Maybe she only planned for three--they were published May 2008, June 2008 and July 2008. They may have been so successful that she decided to continue it.

It was a prequel to the series that was an e-book free read. As the series gained popularity [probably:] it was reissued as a book.

When I did a search at the Library the Librarian told me this info =D.

Valorie, the only Erin McCarthy I've read is Heiress for Hire and it was only OK. However, I'm always in the mood for a funny sexy book. As long as the main character is somewhat likable I'll give it a go.

The main heroine in the story is a feisty, take charge prosecutor out to get the Vamp that is supposedly dating her sister. Witty writing and a great romance! I hope you enjoy it!

I'll start the first in that series after I finish Stephanie Bond's - Body Movers (my pick it for me book) and Moore's - Stupidest Angel. Should be sometime tomorrow evening or Monday at the latest. I'll happily give another hetero guy opinion.

Mel W (melw) | 981 comments I finally finished Witch Fury yesterday - longest I've taken to read a book in a while - but it is a crazy busy time of year :) I'm now attempting to read I Burn for You. I was planning on finishing off my Christmas shopping today but I think I might leave that till tomorrow and hide out at home today - just so I can remember what it looks like since I've spent so little time there lately :)

Mel W (melw) | 981 comments Well, I hid at home today and finished I Burn for You. It was okay - didn't feel the attraction between the main characters though.

I feel the need for something light so I'm about to start Derik's Bane by MaryJanice Davidson.
