"Be careful Jacob." Susannah said. "Don't end up hurting yourself more."

~Susannah's voice which usually calmed him, only made him madder. Jacob shook harder. He was supposed to be taking care of her, looking out for her. But instead he was lying in some hospital bed, having to rely on Edward to communicate.~"He is pissed," Edward said. He grabbed on to the back of Susannah's chair and slowly pulled her away from the side of the bed, just in case. Then he moved to close the door.
Susannah sighed, and fell silent, watching him closely.
~Jake shifted.~Jacobs monitors went crazy. His eyes flew open and his claws started to grow.
Edward and Carlisle each grabbed one of his arms, and held them down, trying to calm him. But if anything it just made him worse.
"what's wrong? " Susannah asked worriedly.
"He's abaout to turn in the middle of the hospital," Carlisle said. Jacob was trembling violently, about to tear out of his skin.
Susannah watched worriedly, unsure how to or if she could help.
Jacobs eyes found her and almost instantly the shaking began to slow.
Eventually the shaking stopped altogether and Jacobs claws receded into his hands.
Susannah pulled her chair back to his bedside.
Edward and Carlisle let go of his arms, and moved away from the bed. "It looks like my work is done," Edward said. "Hey baby," Jacob said horsely. "You think we can avoid comas for a while?"
Susannah smiled at him, tears of relief falling from her eyes as she nodded And said, "sounds like a good idea."
"So Carlisle, when am I getting out of here?" Jacob asked. "Not for awhile, you may be awake but you are not out of the woods quite yet."
"Never are in Forks," Jacob said.
there was a knock on the hospital room door.
Christian entered, Sabrina close behind him. "Hey, you're awake. that's good." he said.
"So it would seem," Jacob said. After checking some of the monitors Carlisle and Edward left the room. Edward to go home and Carlisle to do his rounds.
"well this was a pointless trip then." Christian said. "Sabrina called me because she wanted to check on Susannah but didn't know how to get here. but since you're ok, she's ok too and I borrowed my moms car for nothing."
"I wouldn't say that," Jacob said. "Could you do me a favor?"
"Give Susannah a ride back to Sabrina's with her. She needs to sleep." Jacob said.
"ok" Christian said But Susannah was already shaking her head.
"Yes," Jacob said. "I will still be right here tomorrow, and the day after that, and everyday for at least a month according to Carlisle. You can come back."
"sure but for now I'm staying here." Susannah said.
"No your not," Jacob said. "Alek could you come here. I can smell you from the waiting room."Alek came in a minute later, and upon seeing Sabrina and Christian gave her a look that said they'd be talking about that later. "What's up?" He asked turning to Jacob.
"I need you to make sure Susannah goes home with Sabrina and Christian."
"Sure," Alek said.
"stop making him my babysitter! " Susannah said. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Yes you are," Jacob said. "You're gonna fight with me right after I wake up from a coma?""I've got an idea," Alek said. He slid his arm around Sabrina's waist, then grabbed Susannah's shoulder and the three of them were gone.
Christian narrowed his eyes at the place where alek had stood. "he plays dirty." he said before he headed home.Susannah fumed, her hair lighting.
Sabrina, having never teleported, never even thinking It was possible...screamed.
"Could you both calm down!" Alek yelled over Sabrina. "Yes, Sabrina, I teleport it's one of a whole host of impossible things I can do. And Susanbah do you want to out yourself to your aunt? Put that out. Besides I thought you would be glad, Jake and I are finally getting along."
once she realized that she recognized her surroundings and that her feet were on solid ground, Sabrina calmed and quieted.Susannah took a deep breath and her hair went back to normal. "that's not why I'm mad." was all she said
"Then enlighten me," Alek invited.
Susannah sighed. "it doesn't matter." she said, walking inside, Sabrina following behind her.
Alek followed them in, then steered Sabrina to her room. "I think we should have a chat," he said, leading her up the stairs.
"Was it necessary for you to call Christian for a ride to the hospital? I just told you I didn't like it not twelve hours ago. Besides, you couldn't have asked me to get you when we were on the phone before?"
"I didn't think about it until after, and I didn't want to bother you. Besides, you said you didn't like me going on dates-that-weren't-technically-dates with Christian. I just needed a way to get to a hospital. He didn't even try anything, it was a mostly quiet drive. I don't see the problem." Sabrina said, looking confused.
"The more time you spend with him, the more he thinks he has a chance," Alek said. "And I don't want to have to compete with anyone for you." He moved closer to her, reaching up to push a piece of hair behind her ear.
Sabrina sighed. "Fine, I will...take that into consideration." she said.
"Thank you," Alek said, leaning down so his lips lightly brushed against hers.
Sabrina took a step closer to him, effectively returning his kiss.
Alek was barely touching her as he slid his arm around her waist, but still he worried it was too tight.
Sabrina wrapped her arms around him in return, not bothered by the way he held her, though it felt much tighter than 'barely touching' to her.
"Let me know of you get too breathless," Alek whispered, moving toward her bed.
"Plan to kiss me breathless, do you?" Sabrina whispered teasingly.
"Definetly," Alek said, lying her on the bed and climbing on top of her.
Sabrina grinned, running her fingers through his hair.
"Tell me if I get to rough," Alek said stroking her hair. He gently pressed his lips against hers. "I sometimes don't realize my own strength."
Alek put his hands on either side of her head, leaned down, and kissed her as gently as he could.
