Vampires vs. Werewolves Roleplay (The one with twilight charries)
"Have you tried talking to him?" Rebecca asked. "They say that people can her you when they're like that."
"What should I say?" Susannah asked.
"Anything that will make him wake up," Rebecca said.
Susannah looked at Jacob and then said, "Hey Jacob. I don't know if you noticed or not, but I've been here all day. And I pretty much plan to stay here until you wake up. So wake up soon, ok? I miss you. I love you. I need you to be ok." And then as she started crying, Susannah remembered why she hadn't said anything since she got there - it always ended in tears.
Jacob's monitors beeped loudly when she started to cry and his eyes moved around beneath their lids.
Susannah held his hand in both of hers and spoke through her tears, "Rebecca said you could hear me." She said. "I hope you do. I hope you come back to me, and never ever think about leaving again. Please be alright. We just got married. We have our whole lives ahead of us, so many years and so many days, and I really want to spend every second of every minute of every one of them with you."
~inside Jacob's mind~Jacob was lying on his back, staring up into a great black nothing when a voice starting coming at him from all directions at once. It sounded vaguely familiar but it was garbled like he was underwater, so he decided to just ignore it... until it started crying. He sat bolt upright. "Susannah," he breathed looking around frantically. He got to his feet a searched for a a way out of the never ending dark, but there was none.
The montiors beeped again, the lines indicating moving drastically.
"What do those measure?" Susannah asked rebecca, nodding towards the lines.
"Brain activity," Carlisle said, as he walked in. ~Jacob took his head in his hand and screamed in frustration. Then he started to cough and gag, he couldn't breathe right.~
Jacob started making a slight choking noise.
"what's happening?" Susannah asked, worriedly.
Carlisle swiftly slid Susannah's chair away from the bed to make space. "It's alright," he said. "It's the intubation tube in his throat. He's trying to breath on his own." He gently pulled out the long tube that went from his mouth to the punctured lung.
~Jacob sat back down to catch his breath. He laid back, and the moment his head touched the ground he drifted of into oblivion; only vaguely aware of the fact that he had once been looking for a way back.~Jacob's breathing was shallow and labored, but the machines showed that it was enough to sustain him. The lines monitoring his brain leveled out to the way they had been when they got there.
the worry had overshadowed Susannahs sorrow and she had stopped crying. now that the worry was lessened at the sign that Jacob was stable again, Susannah sat numb just like she had before she started talking to him.
"How did that start?" Carlisle asked.
Susannah shrugged. "I noticed it shortly after I started to cry."
"It was my fault," Rebecca said, thinking that something had gone wrong. "I told Susannah to talk to him. Then the monitors started going off."Carlisle turned to Susannah. "Well my guess is he heard you. Later I'll call Edward down, and find out what he hears."
"Is that good or bad?" Susannah asked.
"My guess is he's aware of what's going on to an extent but doesn't know how to get out of it," Carlisle said. "Which is good. The more he tries to figure out a way to wake, the less he's likely to succumb to his injuries."
Susannah let out a breath of relief she didn't know She was holding.
"That being said, it would be best not to push him too much," Carlisle said. "He's not out if the woods yet and if he tries to hard, and takes up to much energy trying to wake up, he won't heal properly."
"I'll go give Edward a call," Carlisle said and left.
Susannah continued her vigil over Jacob.
An hour or so later Carlisle returned, accompanied by Edward.
"So what is he going to try to hear?" Susannah asked.
"What ever Jacob is thinking," Edward said, moving to stand next to Susannah. "I don't hear anything right now. Try talking to him again."
"...Ok." Susannah said, and she turned towards Jacob. "hey Jacob." she said. "I miss you, love. Get better soon, okay?"
~The voice was back again. It was important... Why is it important again? Jacob couldn't remember.~"He can hear you," Edward said. "But he can't tell that it is you talking."
"it's me Jacob." Susannah said. "Susannah. your wife. we just got married, but we dated for a long time too. we met when you saved me in the woods from some snakes, remember?"
~Jacob blinked, trying to clear his head of a thick fog. He sat up, slowly, rubbing his eyes as if he'd been asleep. That was when it all came back to him, being in the living room with Susannah, Alek, and Christian; Susannah dying. The deal with Adrian. And the dagger in his chest. He'd held up his end of the bargain, Susannah should be far away and safe. Why could he hear her? The only thing that made sense was that he had died and Adrian had gone back in her deal.~The monitors began beeping loud and rapidly. His brain waves frantic.
"He thinks your dead," Edward said quickly. "He thinks he died and then Adrian went after you."
"Jacob, everything's ok." Susannah said. "I'm fine, and you're still alive, just barely. Adrian didn't do the job right. that's why I need you to hold on, ok. love? because you held up your end. if you make it through this we don't have to deal with her ever again. just hang on."
The beeping slowed, as did the indicators. ~She's alive, and so am I. Then where the hell am I?~
"Where am I?" Edward recited, mimicking Jacons voice.
"A hospital. You're hurt." Susannah said.
~Well of course I'm hurt I had a dagger in my chest. I mean why is there nothing but dark everywhere?~Edward opted to edit out the first part before reciting the rest.
"I don't know. I'm not in your head." Susannah said.
~In my head? Then how do you know what I'm asking?~"He wants to know how you're answering him. How you can hear him."
"Edward is translating." Susannah said.
~Why do I need translating? What is going on? Where am I~"He doesn't know," Edward said. "He doesn't realize he's in a coma."
"You're in a coma, Jacob." Susannah said. "You aren't actually speaking."
~A Coma?!? Well how do get out of it?!?!?~Edward began reciting in Jacobs voice again.
Susannah shrugged and looked at Carlise. "How does he get out of it?" she asked him.
"It's not an exact science," Carlisle said. "No one knows why people do and don't wake up and why it takes some longer than others."
"No one knows." Susannah told Jacob.
~Well that sucks. Can't Rebecca or Alek just snap their fingers and make me all better?~
"They're afraid that if they do that, it'll count as you going against your word and Adrian will have an excuse to come back. If you survive on your own then it was just her fault." Susannah said.
~Jacob ran as far as he could in every direction, but there was nothing anywhere.~"I can't hear anything," Edward said. "He's alive, and well, not conscious, but whatever it is he was before. But it's like there's nothing to hear. "
"Is that good or bad?" Susannah asked.
"I don't know," Edward said. ~Jacob was furious. There's No Way Out!! He started to tremble.~
Edward winced. "Heard him. He said there's no way out."
"alright." Sabrina said. "I can do that."
