Susannah didn't reply, instead continuing, and picking up her pace.

"I have a question," Alek said, suddenly in front of her. "If you know that magic and the supernatural exist, why won't you even consider the possibility that everyone but you is right? Because you know usually majority rules. And did you know that you don't live with your aunt?"
"No, that did not occur to me because I don't trust any of you more than I could could throw you. And I do know that I live with my aunt." Susannah said.
Alek held up his finger and took out his phone. He texted Sabrina, So what are you and your mom going to do now that Susannah and Jacob ended any chance of her coming to live with you?
Ride out the rest of the summer here. The house is leased that long, plus my mother still thinks Susannah will change her mind. Sabrina replied.While he texted, Susannah kept walking.
Alek slid the message around the screen so the last line was hidden. Then ran up and showed to Susannah. "You and Jacob told them you weren't going to go."
"Well where do you suggest I go since apparently you know more about me than I do?" Susannah asked sarcastically.
"Back where you live," Alek said. "Or if you really don't want to I have some spare rooms."
"I'm not going anywhere near Jacob Black." Susannah said simply.
"How do you still think he killed your mother?" Alek asked. "I already showed you that your memory is faulty, why is the most obvious falsehood the out you're sticking with?"
"You haven't given me any proof my memory is faulty!" Susannah said. "Maybe I didn't tell my Aunt I was staying with her. Guess I forgot. That doesn't mean that someone messed with my head."
"Fine, first time we met, what was happening?" Alek asked.
Susannah thought for a second. Then she shrugged. "I don't know. I don't remember."
"You were burning the body of your mothers killer," Alek said. "So if Jacob had killed your mother he wouldn't be here would he?"
"But I never did that." Susannah said. "Obviously. Because like you said, Jacob's still breathing. Unfortunately."
"Yes you did," Alek said. "And manipulated or not my memory is still better than yours. You know being a vampire and all."
"Why would I lie about that?" Alek asked.
"Why would I know?" Susannah said. "it doesn't mate sense to me either. but you are"
"How about this one? Your buddy Adrian is a shifter. Do you know what they love to drink?"
"she's not a shifter. I don't even know what that means" Susannah said.
"A Shape shifter," Alek said," and yeah she is. Like I've repeatedly told you, she screwed up your memory."
"maybe your memorys the screwed up one" Susannah said.
"I highly doubt that," Alek said. "Seeing as out if the two of us, my memory coinsides with reality."
"So says you. who else was there?" Susannah ASKSD.
"well, I don't trust Jacob, so his words not worth much. and adrians never said anything to me, " Susannah said
"Of course she didn't, it was her body that I saw reduced to ashes," Alek said casually.
"that doesn't make any sense, because I know her now, and she's mot dead," Susannah said.
"She has magic," Alek said. "That's how she could survive, and that's how she messed up your memory."
"Try to look at this objectively," Alek said, opening the door to his house. "There was already one thing out of place in you memory: you thought you were living with Shirley. And I'd be willing to bet there are more. Has there been a time tonight that you had trouble remembering something that there's no way you should have forgotten?"
Susannah blushed, thinking about how something as simple as where her room was was lost to her. "maybe"
"Let me try something ok?" Alek offered. "It's a healing spell, like for concussions and things of that nature. If it helps, then it's proof that your memory has been tampered with."
Susannah eyes him suspiciously. "no" she said.
"Why? What's the harm in checking all the possibilities?" Alek asked.
"How do I know that you're going to do what you say you're going to do? " Susannah asked
"Here," Alek said, pulling out a spell book. "This is the spell Ill do." He opened the book to a healing spell and handed it to her. "You will know if I do anything else."
Susannah read over the spell. "fine" she said.
"Focus on the thing you've forgotten," Alek told her.
Susannah thought about where her room was.
Alek's eyes went black and he quietly recited the incantation he had shown Susannah.
Susannah was hit with a very familiar image of a room ar Jacobs house, one she knew she considered hers
"I remeber," Susannah said, "But...it doesn't make sense."
"I remember my room being at Jacobs house. but why would I ever live anywhere near him?" Susannah asked, clearly confused.
"Because you are married to him," Alek said.
Susannah stared at him for a few moments, then started laughing. "yeah right!" she said. "that's the moat ridiculous thing I've ever heard!"
Alek rolled his eyes. "I give up," he said. "You don't want your memory fixed not my problem." He tossed a pillow and blanket at her and pointed to the couch.
