"Hey Caleb," Jacob said.

"Hello." Caleb said, walking up to them. "When you weren't in school I thought - well, I was afraid - anyway, I just came to make sure you guys were ok, and that nothing had...happened." he said, referring to when they were taken by the mord sith and gone for weeks.
"We're fine, there was just a little misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding? Anything serious?" Caleb asked.
"Yes, actually, I think it was pretty serious. Caleb, do you happen to know anyone intent on breaking Jacob and I up?" Susannah asked."Hm...not as of late, no." Caleb replied.
"I know of someone who a while back wouldn't have mind if we broke up," Jacob joked pointedly at Caleb.
"Like I said. As of lately, I have not. I never said I've never know anyone. Just not anyone lately." Caleb said. "Except maybe that Tara chick that was into Jacob at lunch that one time."
"Uggg, she is the most annoying person ever."
"She was. But I don't think she'd be smart enough to come up with a plan so low." Susannah said."What plan exactly, is she not smart enough to have made?" Caleb asked.
"Someone who looks exactly like me came to Susannah's and broke up with her."
Caleb's eyes narrowed. "Are you sure it wasn't you?"
Caleb relaxed, then shrugged. "So, have any leads?"
"Well that sucks. I've gotta get home, but I'll tell you if I find out anything." Caleb said, waving as he walked."Bye." Susannah said.
Caleb walked to his house, and Susannah took out her keys to get into her house.
Susannah walked into her house. "hey Mom." she said."Hello dear." Ms. Summers said, before going back to her needlework.
"Hi Ms. Summers," Jacob said hoping she'd be to distracted by her needle work to remember he was mad at him.
Ms. Summers looked up from her needlework long enough to glare daggers at Jacob, before looking back at her work. "Susannah, darling, what is he doing here?" she asked, not wanting to talk to Jacob.
Jacob looked at Susannah figuring he was better off keeping his mouth shut.
"He wanted to talk, Mom. We'll talk, and then he'll leave." Susannah said, acting as if having Jacob there was one of the last things she wanted."Alright. But I let him in this morning, and honestly, I don't care to see him, and I doubt you do either, so make it quick because I don't want his foul presence mucking up my house." and with that Ms. Summers got up and left to her room.
"Wow she really hates me doesn't she?" Jacob said.
"Yes." Susannah said. "Which is good. Because if you had broken up with me, she should. But since you didn't, I'll have to think of a way to explain to her why it seemed like you'd broken up with me without actually telling her why."
"I did have an idea but I don't know how believable it is."
"That I have this cousin whose visiting that looks a lot like me and we dont like each other at all and he decided it would be funny to play a joke on me by breaking up with you."
Susannah thought about. "It might work..." she said.
"It might," Jacob said. "We want it to definetly work."
"I guess it's worth a shot." Susannah said. "Mom! Can we talk to you for a second?" she called to her mom's room.Ms. Summers walked out of her room. "Yes?"
"Jacob has something to tell you." Susannah said.
Ms. Summers looked at Jacob coldly.
"Well you see I have this cousin that looks a lot like me and he doesn't like me and I don't like him. Well he thought that it would be funny that while he was visiting he'd pull a prank on me by breaking up with Susannah."
"Your cousin? He must have a sick mind if he'd think breaking a girls heart would be funny." Ms. Summers said, her anger wavering only slightly.
"Well I didn't give him his sense of humor," Jacob said. "And I don't think the point was to hurt Susannah but to hurt me because she'd be so mad at me."
"So you swear you had nothing to do with it? And Susannah believes you?" Ms. Summers asked.
"I swear," Jacob said. "And I think only Susannah can answer the second question."
Ms. Summers looked at Susannah questioningly. Susannah wanted to be able to say yes without a moment's hesitation. But there was a moments hesitation because she knew what she saw, and she knew what she wanted to believe. After a second she said, "Yes, Mom, I believe him."Ms. Summers turned to Jacob and smiled. "Good. Because I liked you Jacob. You're a good kid."
"Thank you," Jacob said graciously.
Ms. Summers nodded, then turned and left, calling as she walked away, "He can stay as long as he wants." before disappearing into her room.
Jacob wrapped his arm around Susannah. "I'm glad that worked."
"Mom likes to believe the best in people. Let's hope you, or should I say the other you, doesn't prove her wrong." Susannah said.
"I hope so," Jacob said. "It would look really bad for me if after I patched everything someone came came and ruined it."
"I'm sorry," Jacob said. He just felt that he needed to apologized so he did.
"It's fine." Susannah said. "Nothing's technically your fault. I just wish we knew whose fault it was."
"That reminds me," Jacob said. "When we do find out; if you have any aversion to seeing a werewolf ripping someone apart then you may want to consider covering your eyes."
"I think I'll cover my eyes." Susannah said.
"Alright then," Jacob said. "I think I'm gonna go home and talk with my dad and some other members of the pack, see if they can help with figuring stuff out."
Susannah nodded. "Ok, I'll see you later, then." she said.
