I just read Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea a couple of weeks ago - it is astounding to read about the people in North Korea. Hope you find it...enjoyable isn't the right word - perhaps, enlightening? And enjoy the rest of your winter reading, Christina!

Thanks Kathryn. I've been wanting to read this for awhile now. I visited South Korea several years ago and it piqued my interest in what might be happening in the north.

Elaine | 2001 comments Can one of the moderators or anyone here really, tell me please, if A God in Ruins qualifies for Speculative fiction? I did read on Google that "it has a twisty hint of speculative fiction at the end". Is that enough?

I have read it and I would not have described the ending in that way. It is certainly an unusual ending but not really 'speculative".

Thanks Brenda. I was hoping to somehow include it in my Winter challenge as I will be picking it up from the library sooner than I thought. I might swap it for my historical read. I think that should be okay. :)
