Dee, I had to write #2--I had a second book in a series to handle, too. Although I started plotting this task before the book surfaced in my life.

Misdiagnosed: One Woman's Tour of -And Escape From- Healthcareland by Jody Berger (280 pages) (everything after the colon is considered subtitle, if I understand the rules?)
2. For page count ending in 2: The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin (272 pages)
3. For author with three identical letters, The Sacrifice by Joyce Carol Oates (3 O's, 320 pages)
So many possibilities for this task!

D, these all look good to me; you've got the right idea on the one word title.

Great, thanks!

Doris Lessing looks good for option 3.

Clarity 3"
Kim, I'm sorry, but the 3 counts as a second word. I hope you can use it somewhere because it sounds interesting. IT WILL WORK FOR OPTION 3. There are 3 Ts in Loretta Lost.

When I'm trying to fit books in at this stage it sometimes helps me to shuffle things around. So something I already planned to read may fit into this awesome task and then I can get something else into a task I had planned for already. Just a ramble. I bet many of you already do this.
I can't wait to plot my picks for this task!

Suzanne, According to the rules (see below) the BL must be 5.0 or higher and Wonder is only 4.8, so it won't work. Sorry, because it is a great book.
4. Any book that has "childrens" or "kids" listed as a genre on its main page MUST be validated in the following manner:
a) The book MUST be found on AR BookFinder and/or AR BookFinder UK. ISBNs may be entered.
b) Books with an Interest Level (IL) designation of LG are NOT allowed for points in the SRC. The AR BookFinder UK equivalent for LG is LY.
c) Books that have an IL designation of MG+ or UG may be used with no restrictions (other than general SRC and specific task requirements). The AR BookFinder UK equivalent for UG is UY. However, you must state the IL designation when you post the book.
d) Books that have an IL designation of MG MUST ALSO have a BL of 5.0 (or higher) AND AR Pts of 7.0 (or higher). The AR BookFinder UK equivalent for MG is MY.

Book 1: Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum
Book 2: The Invention of Fire by Bruce Holsinger, Book 2 in the John Gower series (book 1 was good, despite needing about 50 pages whacked out of the falling action, and I look forward to Gower sleuthing around medieval England again).
Book 3: The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez, three "I"s in her name.
Thanks, Donna Jo! :)

Book 1: Hausfrau..."
Melissa, these look good. I liked the Henriquez book when I read it--and I just put the Holsinger on hold at my library.

Suzanne, According to the rules (see below) the BL..."
Thanks, DJ - I just got it last week & hoped to fit it into the challenge, but ah well.
How about Longitude? It has a long subtitle, but I notice the task says to ignore those?

Suzanne, According to the rules (..."
Yes! Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time works well and is an interesting book.

1- Neverwhere
2 B- War Child: A Child Soldier's Story 272 pages
3- A Death in the Family James Agee- 3 E's
Thank you x

It took me 10 minutes to select and download all three books, and I've finished reading one this evening. It took me 5 weeks to find the 2 books for the challenge I created. Thanks for simplifying my life. :)

Laura, they all three are good! I loved Neverwhere.

Julia, yes, with the appostrophe ha'penny is one word.

Jonquil, I've done the SRC several times when my task was the last I finished because I just couldn't find the right combination of books. This time I've only had a little juggling to do to use books I have on hand. Emjoy.

After Ever After for Book 2 (it's listed as #2 on Goodreads). The main page genre Children's is present but this is the AR Bookfind info: IL: MG - BL: 5.2 - AR Pts: 7.0
That all works, right? I just like to know I am not interpreting incorrectly.
I think I am going to read Torch for Book 1 and I have no idea for book three just yet since I just realized I miscounted my letters for the choice I made!
Thanks!

Torch sounds good for #1. And I hate when I miscount...I had a couple lined up and found they both had four of the same letter instead of three.
Nicole, As I read the rules After Ever After meets the criteria. I'll say yes unless overruled by one of the mods.

1. Stardust, Neil Gaiman
2. Cat-Eye Witness: A Klepto Cat Mystery (A Klepto Cat Mystery #2), Patricia Fry
3. Guardians of the Night, Alan Russell (three Ls)

I have faith in you, Meghanly! You can do it.

In case anybody still needs authors for Option 3:
Christina Baker Kline = I
Celeste Ng = E
Paula Hawkins = A
Margaret Atwood = A
Erin Morgenstern = E & N
Ian Rankin = N
Jojo Moyes = O
Hanif Kureishi = I
Donna Leon = N

Option 1: Jerusalem: A Family Portrait
option 3: The Secret Life of the Grown-up Brain: The Surprising Talents of the Middle-Aged Mind Barbara Strauch has 3 R's in it
Great task!

Nicole--I'm just sorry I was out this evening and didn't get to answer each one. Sara Shephard works great and so does the Rosie Effect (I just read it last month. Enjoy.

Read 3 books, one from each option below
Each book must have a minimum of 250 pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
1. Read a book with a one-word title. All words count including "a", "an", and "the". Ignore subtitles and series titles.
2. Read a book that
a) is number 2, 12, or 22 in a series. NOTE: The book must be identified as a book in a series on Goodreads. The series information is in parentheses after the title - Book Title (Series #4).
OR
b) has a page count ending in 2.
See the method to determine page numbers in Determining page count #7
3. Read a book written by an author with a letter that appears 3, and only 3, times in his/her name as it appears on Goodreads. For example: Alexander McCall Smith has 3 L's, E.L. Doctorow has 3 O's. However Gail Anderson-Dargatz does NOT work because she has 4 A's with no other letters appearing exactly 3 times.
It's okay if there are 2 different triplet letters; Natasha Solomons has A and O.
Reguired: when you post, identify the triple letter.
