I'd like to get Preacher as well although I think I would be happy with a deluxe HC.

message 152: by Saugata (new)

Saugata Mukherjee | 180 comments I would like to get my hands on Superior Foes of Spiderman too. Only heard great things about it.

Saugata Mukherjee | 180 comments @Blindzider, I think everybody should add Blacksad to the list

Welcome Bruno. :) That's a good list. I've read the Abnett and Lanning Guardians material but don't have the run myself so I am looking forward to adding it to the collection as well.

I will probably eventually pick up Superior Foes. And I completely agree with Saugata that Blacksad is worth checking out. :)

message 155: by Bruno (new)

Bruno Carriço (bchccc) | 242 comments Don't know Blacksad (just checked what it was on google). When you all say add Blacksad is for the to buy list or to a omnibus to come out list?

message 156: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
That would be the buy list for Blacksad. The first HC in English contains three stories. Then there are two smaller one story hardcover volumes (Silent Hell and Amarillo). The comic is originally published by a French company so I can't comment on what may be available in French.

message 157: by Saugata (new)

Saugata Mukherjee | 180 comments @Bruno, you are missing something buddy. Try the first story, then take your own decision from there.
@Relstuart, Amarillo is the latest in French too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blacksa...

Well, just bought the first volume (amazon uk). This thread is already costing me money :)

Bruno Carriço (bchccc) | 242 comments Speaking of "less known" books that i loved, i highly recommend the Incal collection: Before the Incal, The Incal and Final Incal.
I have the english Humanoids versions (pretty great).

message 161: by Saugata (new)

Saugata Mukherjee | 180 comments I was meaning to check the Incal saga for a long time now.

message 162: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share Hi guys, thanks for your concern. :)

I went to Hell and back over Xmas and New year. I don't mind putting this on here as i'm not ashamed of it.

Broke my hand on Xmas Eve, had to have a metal pin put in while under anaesthetic, then split up with my long term girlfriend a week later, then I was diagnosed with a bulging disc at a spinal consultancy - I may have to have replacement disc surgery for my lower spine, while on top of that I was diagnosed with PTSD. My family and everyone is fine :) it was just me.

My whole outlook has changed, it's kind of weird. Before Xmas Comics was my everything and now I can take them or leave them. I think I was using them for escapism and not dealing with my issues. I'm still going to read as many as I can before selling them, but i will eventually sell them all and use the money towards a house deposit or pay off debts.

My rehabilitiation of my spine and hand is getting better now and I've been having really good therapy for my PTSD and my girlfriend said we might start dating again in a couple of months, so things are now on the up. :)

I will put together a list of everything i'm selling, but if you want an idea just look at the photo's of my collection in the photos section.

I will most likely put them on ebay or if someone on here wants to do it direct we can do bank transfer or paypal.

I've got the whole captain america run and dardevil run in omnibus form :) I also have Simonson's Thor.

All in very good condition. Most of my books apart from Cap Vol.1 have only been read once then stored on my shelf.

I'm glad everything is on the mend and swinging positive for you.
While I have only been in this group since last June, you have always been one to help, and I thank you for it, as I'm sure all the regulars here do. I hope that you stay involved with the site as well.
Stay positive, and if you ever need someone to talk to, by all means, as I have been around the block twice already.

Cheers Frank, yeah i'll be around. I'll still want to be in the know.

I'll be buying stories which i believe are essential i.e. Manhattan projects HC vol 2. :)

It's been awesome. :)

Sage (thaczero) | 96 comments Hey Bruno, just be aware that the Iron Fist Omnibus feels 'half finished' (or half complete). There is a second part of his storyline which takes place in a TPB... don't know why they never completed the set as the 2nd part is pretty good.
Good luck with the DD Omnis... those have been a hassle to find.

I actually bought the two The Immortal Iron Fist: The Complete Collection TPB, since the Omnibus was so expensive. But if a reprint ever comes up, i will buy it anyway since i'm a sucker for Omnibuses. :)

I also did the same for X-Men: Age of Apocalypse (but it was actually 5 TPBs in this case).

message 171: by Sage (new)

Sage (thaczero) | 96 comments Got it. That's what I do too!

message 172: by boymeetscomics (new)

boymeetscomics | 79 comments I'm not sure if my top 3 wish items will ever get re-printed but miracles can happen.

1) X-Men Inferno HC
2) Iron Fist Omnibus
3) Brubaker Captain America Omnibus v1

message 173: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
I think there is a good chance on Iron Fist when the show debuts.

They will reprint Brubaker Cap bits just a matter of when. I need that one as well.

message 174: by Relstuart, Mod+ (last edited Mar 18, 2016 09:53AM) (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
They did multiple printings of the first Cap Brubaker omnibus. I don't know exactly how many but I've heard anywhere from 5 to 7. They kept it in print for years. I wouldn't be shocked to see another printing but I wouldn't be surprised if it's years down the road either.

I need the Inferno OHC too. It sold poorly the first time around so I think it's iffy that we'll see a reprint.

I didn't buy the Iron First omnibus since they didn't include the Fraction part of the run. I have all the standard HCs.

message 175: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share The only books i'm buying now are the ones that i need to finish reading then i'll have everything. I've nearly read my whole collection now. I'll start selling them off when i can be bothered.

I just need to finish the following series:

Locke and Key
Lone wolf and cub
Irredeemable
GL
Scalped
Absolute Y the Last Man

That has to be weird seeing the end. After that point of selling everything do you think you might pick something up if it interests you or there's no going back?

message 177: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share Blindzider wrote: "That has to be weird seeing the end. After that point of selling everything do you think you might pick something up if it interests you or there's no going back?"

Well after reading through most of my stuff it's given me a wider understanding and more precise understanding of what i like, so i think i will still pick up in the future, but i'll probably be that bit fussier.

Also because i'm so up to date i might wait a few years for writers to churn out some new stuff. I don't think i'll sell everything, i'll most likely sell all my Marvel omnibuses except Fantastic Four as i want to read that again and again.

I'll keep my Mike Mignola stuff, Lone Wolf and Cub and Invincible, because they are my favourites and i think i would re-read them.

message 178: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
That's a good way to view it. I tend to only buy stuff that I know I like or are worth the investment. Sometimes I do just take a chance on the purchase based on reviews and recommendations and thankfully I haven't been disappointed.

message 179: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
Alistair, curious if your fav Fantastic Four Marvel omnibus volumes are the Hickman or the Stan Lee (though I guess there are also the John Byrne and Fraction volumes).

Did you pick up the Daredevil Bendis/Brubaker runs? Brubaker Cap? I know these two have been a couple of the mostly highly celebrated run in the last decade at Marvel (and two of my favorites as well).

Have you looked into Sweet Tooth? There are currently two deluxe volumes available with a third (and final I think) volumes coming early fall.

message 180: by The Lion's Share (new)

The Lion's Share Hi. They are the Hickman run.

Yes I have all the DD omnibuses.

I haven't checked out sweet tooth yet. Worth it?

Loved the Hickman FF4 run. Post Brubaker probably the best thing to come out of Marvel and my favorite Hickman anything so far.

I like to think Sweet Tooth is pretty good.

As far as ongoing monthly books I like Descender (same author as Sweet Tooth) but it's just getting ready to have the second TPB come out so no HC yet.

Yeah me too. It's a massive geek fest that run. I mean only hickman would come up with a pet Galactus hahaha. Unbelievable! Amazing.

I'll check out sweet tooth and descender.

I thought we could use this thread for just listing some things you would like to see collected. Here's my Batman list:

Batman Contagion/Legacy Omnibus
Paul Dini Batman Omnibus
Peter Tomasi Batman and Robin Omnibus or Absolute
Murderer/Fugitive Omnibus
War Games Omnibus
Batman and Son/Black Glove Absolute
Birth/Bride/Son of Demon Absolute

It wouldn't surprise me if a Snyder/Capullo Batman Omnibus came out once all the issues are out, although I'm not really interested in owning it.

message 190: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

I bought all the Tomasi and Snyder Batman run HCs so I might not pick those up in omnibus but all the rest I would probably pick up. :)

I'll give it some time but may eventually pick up the HCs. Volume 7 is finally available at my library so I can finish that series off soon.

message 192: by Aildiin (last edited May 24, 2016 10:12AM) (new)

Aildiin | 130 comments I have single issues of most of the Snyder/Capullo run starting at issue 18 + the Court of Owls Absolute.

What I would really like them to do ( and I have a feeling it's coming) is a zero year Absolute and then I think I have everything I want from Snyder/Capullo.

Snyder's Joker was great but both the Joker stories are too short for an Absolute ( although I guess you could combine them).

I believe an absolute version is scheduled for later this year. Not sure if it will be everything or just the main series.

message 195: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments My top three are the recently released Goon Library HC Volumes 1 and 2, and Absolute Batman Court of Owls. My other wish list books are Absolute All Star Superman, Absolute Batman Hush, Saga Deluxe HC Volume 1, Manhattan Projects Deluxe HC Volumes 1 and 2.

Also interested in the nonexistent Tomasi B&R omnibus, Batman and Son/Black Glove omnibus, Batman R.I.P. Absolute. As well as Batman The Black Mirror Absolute, The Dark Knight Returns Absolute (why are they waiting on these last two? I know they have the noir versions, but I'd rather have color.)

There is an absolute dark knight but it is coupled with strikes back. I'm curious what they will do once the current one is complete.

I saw that, but I would prefer Omnibus to Absolute edition :)

XenofoneX | 172 comments 01-Prince Valiant: Studio Edition
Fantagraphics Studio Edition Hal Foster's Prince Valiant by Hal Foster
02-The Dark Knight Returns: Gallery Edition
Batman The Dark Knight Returns Frank Miller Gallery Edition by Frank Miller
03-Jim Steranko's Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Artist's Edition
Steranko Nick Fury Agent of Shield Artist Edition by Jim Steranko

-Donovan/Blindzider: I don't know if you're into them, but the DC/Graphitti Designs 'Dark Knight Returns' and 'Ronin' Gallery Editions are what I've been looking for. I avoided the Absolute for the same reason you guys did -- Strikes Back was utter tripe. The original art by Miller and Janson looks great, and it can be read just as easily as the TPB.

With all the talking heads and captions and busy, frenetic energy, reading the original art pages at the original 13" x 20" scale is a great way to appreciate it. It also sounds like I need to grab this before it sells out. I think it's going to go fast; the reg. edition is sold out on the Graphitti site after one week, but the variant is still up, as is the signed edition.

http://www.graphittidesigns.com/shop/...

I think it's still available on IST, but sometimes they leave out of stock books up too long. Hopefully, because their price is better.
