Ha yeah right, save money! I had an issue with my criminal deluxe vol 2 book, it got misplaced in the post, so not sure how i'm going to get a new one at that price now! :(
I might also get the locke and key Master edition and i'm thinking about sex criminals deluxe. Does anyone rate this series as i've not read it.
What i'm really looking forward to is the BPRD 1946-1948 omnibus out next month!
Criminal 1 and 2 are at my LCS and I get a discount. I keep meaning to grab them while they are still available. Sorry to hear about yours though. If it didn't cost so much to ship to you I would pick one up because I think my store has 2 copies.
I've been wondering about sex criminals too (the book that is :P )
I've tried Hellboy in the past but couldn't get into it. Never tried BPRD though.

Yeah you should grab them while they are hot! Vol 2 is hard to get!
Re hellboy, if you didn't like Hellboy you probably won't like BPRD. :(
I went ahead and bought Criminal V1 and V2, unfortunately because I had pretty much deleted my pull list from the LCS, they dropped my discount from 20% to 10%. If it had been the previous manager he would have just given it to me anyway. Oh well, finally have them. They only had a second V1, not a V2.

I was wondering, does anyone have Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Vol 1. hardcover that would be willing to part with it? It's out of print and the prices online are ridiculous. I'm a very passionate X-Men fan, and perhaps someone would be willing to part with Omnibus Vol 1 for less money knowing it will go in a true fan's collection?
Message me if you're interested. Thanks!
Welcome Edward. :) Not something I can help with but I can suggest checking some of your local comic shops. Sometimes they buy these and they want full cover price so they sit around the shop for a year or so since most people buy them cheaper online. Once they go out of print and get expensive cover price isn't that bad. I want to say original cover on vol 1 was $100. These books are worth reading, as are the Claremont and Jim Lee omnibus pair.

Sorry, mine will have to be peeled from my cold, adamantium-laced, dead hands. :)
I'm not sure where you are located but try contacting this store:
http://drnos.com/index.html
They have a lot of deluxe books that are OOP but their minimum price is cover price. I can't recall if they have UXM 1 or not and not sure if they will ship, but checking non-local shops may be worthwhile too because many don't sell online or on ebay.
Best of luck!

One of my favorites is the Uncanny X-Force omnibus :)

That's one that I wish I bought, even though I have the singles.

Uncanny X-Force
Wolverine Vol 1
Amazing Spider-Man Vol 2
League of Extraordinary Men 1-3 Absolutes.
Future -
Geoff Johns Green Lantern Vol 2
Hawkeye
Next round of Deluxes (GI Joe IDW Collection, Walking Dead, Saga, Morning Glories, Fables, Red Star). - I know some of these just came out so I'll be waiting for some time.
I need to pick up the IDW Complete GI Joe vol 7 next week when I order the Annihilation Conquest omnibus. :)
I hadn't heard of Red Star before but it looks interesting. I may have to check it out.

Have you read any of the new IDW Transformers material? It gets good reviews but I'm having a hard time getting past the first Deluxe edition... the new Joe stuff is very well done.
I have not read any of the IDW Transformers material. I do like the look of the new IDW TMNT deluxe though. I have both the Marvel reprints and IDW Joe Deluxe books. I'm in for the long haul on the Marvel reprints for sure.
Well, I had planned to get Millar's Wolverine Omnibus, primarily for Old Man Logan, but now that's OOP too. I still have the singles but maybe someday they'll reprint the OHC. Still quite a few other things I'd rather get anyway.
I have the OHC for Old Man Logan and I've read the one other story in the omnibus so I didn't pick it up. The omnibus is still available at reasonable prices though I think InStockTrades is sold out. I have the other two Wolverine omnibus volumes. Both are volume 1s, but no volume 2s on the horizon. :(
I don't have an IDW upcoming list. However, Simonson's Ragnarok will be getting an oversized vol 1 HC in December. I'm in for it. I've picked up a couple single issues in a store and liked what I saw.
It's an IDW comic series written and illustrated by Walter Simonson. Simonson is responsible for one of the most famous runs on Thor in the late 80s/early 90s. Without him Thor could very well have become one of the forgotten early characters. Instead, Simonson bolstered the synthesis between the modern world and the mythical character while adding additional characters to Thor canon. The omnibus of Simonson's Thor is OOP and going for well over cover price now.
Here is what someone else had to say about it: http://comicsalliance.com/five-reason...

What is the ragnarok IDW title about? A similar thing?
The Ragnarok is about Thor, but a different (non-Marvel) version. I haven't actually read it so the comicsalliance article is the best I can to describe it for now.
I liked the Simonson Thor and think it's worth reading. It is a little dated, not golden age dated or anything like that. It's in line with other good comics from the late 80s. Some folks claim it is the best run in comic book history. I think that is extravagant, but it's the best in Thor's history (Aaron's early Thor work has been excellent).

What I'm buying next: (JULY)
Green Lantern by Geoff Johns V1
Thor by Aaron OHC V1 and V2
Iron Man by Michelinie/Layton V1

Thor by Aaron OHC V1 and V2
Iron Man by Michelinie/Layton V1
Guardians of the Galaxy/X-Men the Black Vortex and Hickman's OHC East of West also come out in July. =) Those plus Aaron's Thor OHC 2 and Absolute Y vol 1 will probably be my July buys.

I'd like to hear about East of West after you read it. I'm not interested in it enough yet to jump on it.

I read it every month and have all the floppies but I am planning to get the Hardcover edition too.

The volume 1 is coming out in July."
Is that on top of the deluxe's? How many volumes does that involve? I've never read it, worth a buy?

There are 5 deluxes which is what I have. I'm not sure where the Absolute breaks (V1 and V2, V1-V3, or halfway down the middle.)
I think it's definitely worth reading. There are some interesting ideas, the ending is probably not what you would expect (for better or worse).
If I didn't have the Deluxes I would pick up the Absolute mainly because I prefer the larger format. My humble opinion...
Hmm. I wonder if they'll do an Absolute Ex Machina.

So I can't decide: I'm thinking about buying Thor omnibus by Stan Lee V2. I can get the variant/modern cover for $60 or the original cover for $80. I prefer to have the classic stuff with the original covers but an extra $20 is kind of a lot. But it is a good price for that version. Is it a no-brainier?

Criminal dlx vol 2 - this is really rare and I'm not willing to pay £90 for it. I'm waiting for one to show up on eBay.
East of west OHC
Locke and key master edition
Yeah, $20 could cover another book if it's an OHC or TPB. But, on the other hand if you really like the other cover better perhaps it's worth the extra $20? If you are always going to be disappointed you didn't get the right cover I'd just spend the extra money.

If I recall Ex Machina isn't one of the big publishers right? Mostly DC doing Absolutes (although the Rocketeer is kinda Absolute-y).
Ex Machina is actually Wildstorm, which DC Comics owns and publishes. I think it's just a matter if they think it will sell. BKV is pretty popular right now though...

I only have the first volume on Ex Machina, I can't even remember if I read it or was waiting to get all of the volumes. I may hold off before getting the rest to see if they do an Absolute next year.
Can't wait to see what you think about Smith's Green Arrow.

I wouldn't be surprised if Image was to release a new HC of Criminals. They are finishing to release the TPs this month.

Big Damn Sin City is like the family Bible. It's a monster. Poor FedEx guy blew and O-ring carrying it to the door. InStockTrades has it for $58.
