MountainKat | 32234 comments Task 4 - 14. Read a minimum of 1000 750 pages in books with Contemporary Romance as MPG.

Contemporary and Romance do not have to be combined and may be combined with other words, MM Romance for example, but BOTH must be MPG (Main Page Genre)! Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

I loved how this book ends! The author really a master of found family. The friendship that was formed was pretty cool. I also like how the mc grows from the start to end. This is perfect for a cozy and comfort read!

Their love is cute, but the writing and the were a little flat. There's no conflict or great ending. Just two people falling in love and living their lives and I guess that was intentional but it does make the story a little boring

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments I should be done later tonight! There's been a lot going on.

This was a cute, fun book. I would definitely check out more books by this author. The MMC was right up my alley and the FMC, while I didn't love her, was really wonderful as well.

MountainKat | 32234 comments Here is your next task!

Task 5 - 12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.

You can do the recommendations however you wish - to the group, to each individual, to the person below you on the list or ?? - it's up to you. If you want to provide a specific shelf for a teammate to to pick from, it needs to have a minimum of 10 books on it. Please include a link to the message with the recommendations in your completion posts.

I saw The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue on your TBR and it's one of my favorites but it's a love or hate so Kat can pick for you if you prefer

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 291 comments We can pick for both members and we can decide which book to read from the 2 options.

I’m picking One Dark Window from your list

message 67: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments Okay!

message 68: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments I'll take a look at both of your lists in a little while and pick one from one of them.

message 69: by Kathryn (last edited Oct 14, 2025 12:20AM) (new)

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments Not sure if you've picked yet or not, Jessica.
But in case you haven't, here's my list: Click

I think I'm going to go ahead and read:

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches

However, I won't be able to start until late tomorrow because of work.

message 70: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments Wait, Kathryn. Christine and I need to pick an option from your list for you to read. Then you can pick one of them.
And you’ll do the same for us choose one book from each of our lists for us to read.

message 71: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments Do you want to send us a specific list or can I look on your tbr?

message 72: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments Oh! Is that it?
I thought we suggested books to EACH OTHER and then we picked one. Well, that does make things a lot easier.

Let me make a NEW list and then I'll post it up here. It'll only take me a bit. Hopefully one of you will be around in the next several hours (I know timezones are weird), so you can pick for me.

message 73: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments I’m here. I will choose the one I like best from your list. Don’t forget to choose one from my list for me. And one from Christene’s for her.

THIS WAS EVERYTHING! I loved it so much it was so unexpected and so good all around. The plot, the magic system, the romance, the side characters. Everything fitting perfectly together. Even tough the first 50 pages were a little too slow but after that you just can't stop.

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments This one is probably going to be hard for me. LOL.
These aren't the typical kinds of books I read.
I'm going to have to really look and think about it.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found something I can read.
I'm going to go with this: The Warlord Wants Forever

message 86: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments I’m thinking the same. Don’t recognise any books I would normally read, but I will have a look. Do we have to read different authors or books or it doesn’t it matter?

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 291 comments Haven’t read any of their works

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 291 comments I’ll probably go with Christina Dodd she have thrillers and on libby

message 89: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments I don't think it matters, no. You just pick one. I found a novella, so I'm just going to read that. though I'm busy this weekend with my mother's 60th birthday, so I probably won't be done with it until after the weekend.

The plot even if cliched was fun but its execution was rushed wich made it difficult to connect with the love story and the characters.

MountainKat | 32234 comments Here is your next task!

Task 7 - 49. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.

As a team select a month and year, then each teammate reads a book initially published in that month and year. Make sure you use the initial publication date. If there is a date at the top of the editions page, use it. Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected month/year combo in your completion posts.

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 291 comments What month and year do you guys prefer?

message 98: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Rodrigues | 48 comments Maybe we do august or September 2025 so we can maintain the spooky theme? I’m down don’t matter what. I don’t have any specific book I really want to read right now so I can pick one from whichever year and month you guys want

message 99: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 287 comments I think we should probably do an earlier year than this year. my budget for buying brand new books is getting a little low. I'm down for spooky books, though.

christene_littlelibrary (cpaulanavarro) | 291 comments Okay so maybe september 2024?
