Shan ~A~ | 1948 comments Reading Jagged (Colorado Mountain, #5) by Kristen Ashley from Julie's shelf. Rated 4 stars and it's the next book on my reread journey of KAs books that I've read.

I have also been trying to read the one's I haven't that I own and I Mathilda, SuperWitch (Mathilda's Book of Shadows #1) by Kristen Ashley (not challenge related) but I think I'm going to put it to the side because I've been struggling with it.

Starting it late tonight or tomorrow.

“It’ll be so damn good.” “Of course it will be good for you. You’re a guy.” I catch my tongue between my teeth but can’t stop my teasing grin. Arching my brows, I add, “I guess we’ll find out if it’ll be good for me.”

Another great edition to the Hellfire Riders MC series with this novella about Bull and Sara. Loved the chemistry between them (both in and out of the sheets). Pop was a sassy but sweet edition and I appreciated Bull's sensitive response to Sara's commitment to her faith. My only complaint was the take down of Raphael seemed to be solved too quickly.

I liked the characters, but I wanted to see more of their interactions, especially at the beginning when it felt like there were lots of small time jumps and after a few, they were all just familiar with each other. Also, I DNFed Left in Ruins and those characters had big parts in the epilogues so I didn't really like them and it definitely didn't make me want to try Cove's book (musician books aren't for me).

Devin is sent to Bootleg Springs to keep low profile after an incident could threaten his career. Scarlett Bodine has three overbearing brothers, but it is not stopping her from befriending Devin. As reluctant as Devin is to embrace all that is Bootleg Springs and Scarlett he finds him falling first for the quaint town and the stunning beauty.

Loved this, huge fan of Lucy Score and was not sure if I would like because Devin is a political figure and I tend to avoid that trope. Regardless, huge breath of fresh air and Scarlett is a hoot. Fly by the seat of your pants and take no prisoners fun!

Task 5 - 29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.

Professions such as LEO, military or musicians are ok. Just don’t try to pass off a rancher and a chef as both being in the food industry - they are simply not close enough. Please include the selected profession in your completions post and to let me know how you know the book qualifies - title, precis, tags or lists, including links and any other necessary information. I need to know where to look to confirm your books. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Please note that private investigators/private detectives, CIA and military (with the exception of military police) are NOT considered law enforcement officers.

Harper and Kieran's relationship is very fast, and carries on from their one night stand two years ago, which isn't shown at all. Both of them have issues with their families which is shown very briefly and then kind of forgotten about. I'm not continuing the series since Kieran's teammates weren't shown enough to make me care about their stories.

“Kill you or fuck you, Tabby?” My voice drops lower. “Oh, I’ve decided.” “Fuck,” she mutters, teeth strumming her bottom lip as she glances away. “Yep. That’s the one.”

Elsie Silver delivered again with Wild Side. The backstory of addiction and the guardianship struggle as a fall out, the supporting cast of previous couples from the series, both Rhys and Tabby were dynamic and likeable characters, the tension & sizzle of a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance (but so worth it at the end!!) and finally, enjoying reading a book with wrestling and bowling!

Review: Miller is at the height of her career when she starts to feel burnt out. She leaves the restaurant she's working at and goes to her dad for a much-needed break. Kai has just fired another nanny for his son Max, so Monty hires Miller for the time she's going to be in town.

Miller is against it at first due to his initial judgement of Miller after their first encounter, but he needs someone.

Not gonna lie, in the beginning when Kai was being judgmental after just meeting Miller, I was on the side of not liking him. However, after seeing the effort he put in with his son I warmed up to him pretty quickly.

Remi has always been alone, her life was spent in a group home and while their was one person she connected with he went away when she exhibited signs of being an Omega. Years later she is looking for a pack and finds one but one of her mates is not what she planned for..

Very fun read but dragged in the middle. Cassian was my favorite.

Brenda tore her gaze from Rever’s, frowning at Volder. “Do you understand that I love him? Why fight for me when you know I will never be happy with you? I promise that we’d both be miserable if you forced me to be a part of your life. Don’t you want a woman who wants you? I don’t and I never will.”

Insta lust erotica with a side of daytime drama, alien style. Rever was honourable but weak willed and Brenda justified sleeping with someone else's guy because she was mean to him. Not my favourite read in the Zorn Warriors series.

“What kind of fucked-up shit is this? You’re kicking me out? Fucking dumping me?” Tyler watched Mason wince. The clueless bastard had probably never thought of himself as being in a relationship in the first place.

Mason, Ty & Lacey had great chemistry and their connection was well written for a novella. The action plot was fine but every conversation though felt like a battle with lots of miscommunication and that's exhausting to read.

Review: There was a lot of tell and no show. I felt sorry for her at first after treatment from her great-aunt, until I realized that she's not very bright. I understand that she was sheltered due to her aunt, but she also doesn't have much common sense.

I was further taken aback when she decided to have a relationship with Bernard after they were just friends for 5 seconds. (view spoiler) Didn't Billy propose to her??

I would have liked to experience the conversations that she and Billy had that solidified their friendship and made him fall in love with her. I would have like to experience the romance and conversation between her and Bernard to make her think that he loved her and she him. But alas that was not to be.

Review: A look into the Wallflowers lives with a new romance to boot. Hannah had an immediate dislike for Rafe, and he did nothing to change that at their first meeting. The chemistry as always was there though. It's a wonder she was able to stay away from him as much as she did and vice versa. ;

We also got to see updates on the previous wallflowers, which was nice and even got some of their povs, mainly Liliian, who was dealing with some marital insecurities.

The idea of this book was good, but Samantha wasn't actually cold/untouchable, and a lot of parts kind of dragged because it was just her repeating that she has a plan and she's following it and more waiting. Also, I wasn't a fan of her giving in to Chris then pushing him away constantly but they're together by the end. I wanted to see more about Samantha finally living her life and healing.

Review: James goes back to her hometown, which she left about 20 years ago, after the death of her twin brother Johnny. She and Johnny had a special connection, and she literally felt it when he died. Once there she starts to realize that there is something suspect about Johnny's death.

The more she finds, the more she questions things. She eventually enlists the help of her friend and ex Micah.

All of this while dealing with the fact that she may not have known her twin as well as she thought, plus her guilt for leaving all those years ago.

The author did a good job of keeping ius guessing about what Johnny was up to over the years with every new piece being peeled back like the layer of an onion.

Still, there was a small bit of predictability, but not enough to completely spoil the mystery of what happened to Johnny before the author wanted you to know.
