A few years ago, when his sister went missing, Haggard Crow turned into something he never wanted to be. A killer.

Even after his sister is rescued a year after she was kidnapped and sold, Haggard ‘Thief’ Crow doesn’t have any plans on changing. He sort of likes the zero fucks given guy that he is now.

Bonus points, he saves women and children from extreme situations, along

I think it's hilarious that the author actually predicted that most of us would be extremely upset by this book. I can't even think right now. I'm typing this up at the speed of lightning, hoping the ferocity of my pecking at these keys can be felt along LLV's back. I'm kidding. Maybe.

I'm just so freaking mad right now!

You ever become so invested in side characters, waiting for the day the author will bless you with their story? What happens when you realize that story will NEVER be coming??

This novel was a powerful start to a new series. I absolutely loved Haggard and Sophia! There was just something about their connection that really captivated me despite their age gap.

This book touches on a premise I tend to tread lightly around based on previous IRL experiences but I enjoyed the plot very much. The protagonists were fleshed out well and their character was well established. The range of emotional content made for an entertaining read. I was definitely shocked and surprised at

Man, oh man… How could Ms. Vale rip my heart out like that! Talk about a gut wrenching surprise! Yep, Ms. Vale sure knows how to make this black hearted girl sob like a baby… *sniff*

LLV’s books always suck me right in from the start, but this one… Wow, talk about a major CrossFit workout for one’s heart! I’ll not spoil anything here but to say that it was quite a ride, its an understatement. And hot d@mn, but even that ending that glued my shattered heart a bit, it became a

I'm going to try real hard to be vague as hell because this book needs it.

Where am I am I at after reading this one?...

Drowning in my own damn tears and snot I tell you.

I am a broken little human.

Reading is my escape from reality but in the last year it's been my safe haven. Something I don't talk about ever is that I lost my dad last Christmas and due to our current situation I never got to say good bye to him. Now one of the very few things that kept me from loosing it was reading and to b

Always Someone’s Monster is the first book in Lani Lynn Vale’s new Battle Crow MC Series. I’ve been dying for Sophia Madden’s story since ‘meeting’ her in the Madd CrossFit series and wow what a steamy, forbidden, emotional story it was. It was so worth the wait. This story took me by surprise in the very best of ways. I was not at all prepared for the many feels this book would put me through and the moment I started reading it was impossible to put the book down until I finished. Sophia and Ha ...more

Lani Lynn Vale is a natural-born storyteller! We loved this story from cover to cover, it was an emotional tale that gripes one's heart.

The characters were amazing as always, very engaging and quite loveable. We loved Haggard's and Sophie's story. The story had constant drama from beginning to end and some suspense, had a cast of awesome characters, it ended up being a page turner for us, we could not put it down.

The heart wants what the heart wants, others be damned. The chemistry between Soph

I don't even know where to begin with this one. I guess I'll start with most obvious one and work on that thing at the end listed under "spoiler." I will say, I will assume if you click on my spoiler that you have been going through

This story just ripped my heart out. I don’t want to spoil anything but OMG this whole book was filled with crazy and shocking events one after another.

Haggard is the president of the Battle Crows MC and they are not afraid to do whatever it takes to protect those they love.

Wow! This author kicks off a new series with some serious feels!

"You want Sophia. Sophia wants you. What's the problem?"

Sophia Madden has a huge crush on her best friend's dad - he also happens to be her dad's best friend, too. Haggard Crow has lusted after his daughter's best friend for a few years now. He knows that she is forbidden fruit, but his restraint is pushed to the limit. When her life is endangered, he's done holding back.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked Sophia and Haggard, just wasn't sure about them as a couple. Even being done with the book, I'm still not sure. I found I was more interested in the drama of Sophia's family and oh boy was there drama. From Madden, who broke my heart with the choice he made at the end, to the surprise wedding guest (that I very much want to know more about). I also wanted to know more about the 2 bad guys that Haggard found towards the end, want to know why and what ...more

The first book in the Battle Crows MC series is one highly emotional ride. This age gap romance between Haggard and Sophie that we had been given little tastes of in a previous series has you holding on for what is an intoxicating love story. This is a book that I was unable to put down and sleep be damned. The chemistry between these two has the air surrounding you charged with an energy that radiates through every word. What some would say a taboo romance just felt perfectly right. There was d ...more

I was expecting a lot more from this. He just wasn't as rough as I thought he would be. He was a serious scary MC, but that was a wimpy MC. They took just a little too long to get together. Her dad...smh. His kids were great and all for their relationship. Surprise at the end. ...more

After reading this book I had to sit on it for a little while. I was shocked the route that the author took. While I understand after reading the end, I’m still a little disappointed. Yes, I loved the couple. Yes the author did a great job with the themes that are in this book (IE- biker, dads best friend, best friends dad). Yes the banter was amazing and we get to meet some new characters that I can’t wait to learn more of and explains. The outcomes were awesome and I was super happy with diffe ...more

Ah, a favorite trope of mine! This one ticks the box for age-gap romance with a side dish of "almost taboo." Love the older guy/younger woman theme! There's no shortage of dire situations, injuries, and steamy scenes in this book, either. Add in Haggard on a motorcycle and it's incendiary. Sophia Madden is a sassy little thing and Haggard can no longer deny he's met his match. LLV ALWAYS entertains. I loved the start of this new series and cannot wait for more! 4 stars ...more

The people in this town got some bad juju 🤣 There is always some nefarious shit going on there!
The love story was typical age gap/daughter's best friend storyline. The heat factor was just a tad more than usual LLV, which I appreciated. 4 stars

Sophia has a little secret - she has a huge crush on her bestie's dad. Yes, Haggard is old enough to be her father, is in fact, her father's best friend, but he's also a hot silver fox and she can't help but be drawn to him. She's never told her friend she has these feelings, and she doesn't plan on it. She also doesn't plan on acting on them because Haggard doesn't see her as anyone but his daughter's friend and his friend's daughter. Then an incident changes

Welcome to Lani Lynn Vale’s newest series, the Battle Crows, MC. While the series is new, as in most of Lani’s books, some of the characters are familiar.

I don’t even know what to say about this book right now. I’m kind of in shock. It threw me for multiple loops. I needed more than a handful of tissues more than once, but I know I am going to adore this series, the Crow brothers and the women that love them.

There is so much to unpack with this book. First, Haggard and his ways of dealing with r

Obsessed with LLV and her books! This book is the first in the new series focusing on the Battle Crows MC, but we also see it intertwined with characters from previous books and previous series from LLV, and it makes the book that much better with that background knowledge. Haggard is the president of the MC and is extremely protective of his family, especially after what happened to his sister years ago. He’s started to notice his daughter’s best friend but with her being the daughter of his be ...more

This is a book that takes us on a journey of different relationships in the world that LLV has created. I immediately fell for Sophie and Haggard and the feelings that they’ve danced around for many years. Imagine having a crush on your best friend’s dad who also happens to be your dad’s best friend! It’s a very complicated relationship in every you look at it.

In her head Sophia understand that the last man she should have feelings for is Haggard as his daughter is her best friend and her father is his, but her heart doesn’t seem to agree. She believes that there could never be anything between but the lessons that life teach us might just prove her wrong.

Haggard is a man who is single and intends to remain that way as he is focused on the MC and ensuring that no one should have to endure what his sister did. He may be attracted to Sophia but that is

This book totally ripped my heart apart. It was such an emotional roller coaster that I’ve had a book hangover for the past couple of days. This is Sophia and Haggard‘s story and you better have your tissues ready. Sophia is the daughter of Madden and Clem’s best friend and Haggard is Madden‘s best friend and Clem’s dad. So there is a forbidden aspect to their relationship. She should be off-limits but the chemistry between the two is undeniable. When they finally act on it what are the repercus ...more

Read it to the end but so disappointed

So sad as usually love everything this author writes. No spoilers but I didn't like how Madden acted and what happened. I didn't really feel a connection to Haggard and Sophie. I kept reading as thought maybe we would gain more understanding of the path that the storyline had taken, but I didn't and the storyline felt disjointed. I was excited to see the book on my kindle but at the end, feel like a child at Christmas that just opened an empty box.
It’s been a little while but I got the sniffles with this one. LLV drove the drama to OTT levels but still making sense. The list of characters and connections is ever increasing and a challenge to remember how they all fit. The taboo Best Friends Dad for the heroine and the heroes best friends daughter was creating a lot of conflict which dissolved in the worst possible way.

The Clem needing a rescue from the “work party” was weird and outta whack but I’m sure LLV will have it make sense down th

I was not ready for this book, I thought I was and that I could handle anything that LLV throws at us, but this story has proven that no I was not ready. Once again, LLV created a masterpiece that just wraps you up and doesn't let go; that stays with you even after you have read that last word and are wanting more. This was a great start to the new series and just shows that what's coming next will rock our worlds. I give this 5 stars.
