I think it's hilarious that the author actually predicted that most of us would be extremely upset by this book. I can't even think right now. I'm typing this up at the speed of lightning, hoping the ferocity of my pecking at these keys can be felt along LLV's back. I'm kidding. Maybe.

This novel was a powerful start to a new series. I absolutely loved Haggard and Sophia! There was just something about their connection that really captivated me despite their age gap.
This book touches on a premise I tend to tread lightly around based on previous IRL experiences but I enjoyed the plot very much. Always Someone’s Monster is the first book in Lani Lynn Vale’s new Battle Crow MC Series. I’ve been dying for Sophia Madden’s story since ‘meeting’ her in the Madd CrossFit series and wow what a steamy, forbidden, emotional story it was. It was so worth the wait. Lani Lynn Vale is a natural-born storyteller! We loved this story from cover to cover, it was an emotional tale that gripes one's heart.
The characters were amazing as always, very engaging and quite loveable. We loved Haggard's and Sophie's story. The story had constant drama from beginning to end and some suspense, had a cast of awesome characters, it ended up being a page turner for us, we could not put it down.

I was a little worried this would have "daddy" kink. There is a joke about it early on, but it is never brought up again thankfully. Overall, this was interesting. The ending was pretty shocking!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked Sophia and Haggard, just wasn't sure about them as a couple. Even being done with the book, I'm still not sure. I found I was more interested in the drama of Sophia's family and oh boy was there drama. After reading this book I had to sit on it for a little while. I was shocked the route that the author took. While I understand after reading the end, I’m still a little disappointed. Ah, a favorite trope of mine! This one ticks the box for age-gap romance with a side dish of "almost taboo." Love the older guy/younger woman theme! There's no shortage of dire situations, injuries, and steamy scenes in this book, either. Add in Haggard on a motorcycle and it's incendiary. Sophia Madden is a sassy little thing and Haggard can no longer deny he's met his match. LLV ALWAYS entertains. I loved the start of this new series and cannot wait for more! 4 stars

Welcome to Lani Lynn Vale’s newest series, the Battle Crows, MC. While the series is new, as in most of Lani’s books, some of the characters are familiar.

Obsessed with LLV and her books! I kept reading as thought maybe we would gain more understanding of the path that the storyline had taken, but I didn't and the storyline felt disjointed. It’s been a little while but I got the sniffles with this one. LLV drove the drama to OTT levels but still making sense. The list of characters and connections is ever increasing and a challenge to remember how they all fit. The taboo Best Friends Dad for the heroine and the heroes best friends daughter was creating a lot of conflict which dissolved in the worst possible way.

I was not ready for this book, I thought I was and that I could handle anything that LLV throws at us, but this story has proven that no I was not ready. Once again, LLV created a masterpiece that just wraps you up and doesn't let go; that stays with you even after you have read that last word and are wanting more.
