Started... now Shirtaloon is just messing with readers in the same way the characters usually mess with one another...

There was just a whole discussion about Clive's throbbing shaft (magic staff)... with a straight face... and they never cracked... just continued on with the story...

From the Foreword from the author to this audiobook, I think Part 2 of the story is essentially 26 epilogues?...

LOLOLOL
That makes me think of watching Jeff Hays read cold, and cracking up at Dinniman's jokes... one video ends with him saying "Damn you, Matt!"

I liked this alot... as usual...

I wasn't expecting the Part 2 plot to happen so soon... and so compressed... but I think it opens the series to interesting future plots...

I liked the extended ensemble nature of Part 2... it was definitely similar to the many epilogues in book 3, but I liked it more here, for some reason?... also, everyone clearly knows Jason will be back sooner or later, this time around, because he's Jason, and Jason is basically unkillable at this point (even if you ignore the plot armor, lol)...

I was clearly wrong about the specifics of Gary at the end of the previous book... but the end result was half-same...

It's kind of crazy this is book 11, and not the end of a trilogy/volume...

I hope Shirtaloon is healthy enough to get back to writing book 13, sooner than later...

Is anyone interested in trying The Primal Hunter in 2026 as a replacement to this BR?... I've been collecting the books, and it's supposed to be a similar premise of Australian sucked into Fantasy World... also a dozen books...reddit says try at least the first 2 books before deciding if it's the series for you or not...

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Well, I think I've entered "Whaddya mean I didn't comment on that?" season these past few weeks...

I read this a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. That "throbbing staff" section was hilarious--and it wasn't alone either. I seem to remember at least three sections with straight-faced sexual references... but the staff was definitely the cake taker there.

Gary--(view spoiler)

Jason had an interesting arc--but it was interesting how his uberpoweredness let the other characters shine more in this entry... (view spoiler)

I'd be interested in the Primal Hunter...

Marie Chalupová (levitara) | 801 comments I have been eying Primal Hunter before so I will likely join as long as I have the space for it.

I had to start a checklist column on my Excel spreadsheet to see what I commented on but then I am like welp it's bit late now and I don't even remember it so what do I have to say besides some vague "I liked it" lol. Need to try to comment more during the reading and as soon as I finish...

More interesting discussions definitely happen when the memories are fresh...

I'm as bad as the next person, especially when I read so much at work, and can just comment on breaks 90% of the time, and move right to the next book...

I regularly read 2 books per night at work, and then finish up and read some shorter stuff at home that might carry over to the first hour of 2 of the next night of work...

Nirkatze | 21736 comments I'm worse... I tend to read 1.5-2 books a day during the week... but not have energy to comment... try to catch up during the weekend... but if my weekend is stressful it might be more than one weekend until I can catch up on comments... I need to start taking notes again...

Marie Chalupová (levitara) | 801 comments I am generally better with eye reads as I even might take down some notes but with audiobooks I usually don't have time for that as I am multitasking with housework etc. And especially with these kind of long series the books start merging together. I also don't have as much time for just sitting down and commenting lately. Audiobooks while doing chores/paperwork and eye reads mostly during breastfeeding lol. When I have a break I feel more like relaxing rather than working my brain. Unless it's the kind of book when I just want to gush over it. I do like reading other's comments, though. Might as well try to put some effort into the discussion.

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Same--minus the breastfeeding--just how when audiobooking there isn't always a convenient time/place to stop and comment... and when I do have time to stop and comment, I often don't know how far I am in the book, lol... Gushing though, or big reactions to a single moment--those I'll want to comment on but don't always make it...

Eye reading I have a lot more thoughts and ability to process them... just a matter of finding the energy...
