Should probably update the schedule info... book 11 came out on audio last summer, book 12 comes out on audio May 20th and can be added to the BR schedule as well...

Not really... most BRs only schedule 6 months out, as per Yanique's Unwritten Rules... so we tend to schedule January to June then July to December, in bulk, right?...

Just commenting on this since I was reading today, and I think I noted in some previous threads about book 12, since it's the end of Volume 4 of the web serial...

Reading this tonight... Was going to read Drysine Legacy, but that narrator is fast and sometimes his dialogue runs together even when slowed down a bit, so I've added it to the pile of audiobooks to listen in both ears on the weekend...

Near 50% now... 8hrs of 18.5 completed... Great being back in this world with Jason's friends from book 1-3, even if they're still struggling to meet back up across the world...

Jason is getting into his usual amount of trouble despite attempts to avoid trouble...

Near 90% now... 2.5hrs remaining, about 40m at my speed...

Been lots of fun, as expected... Be sad to be over, since I've come to consider this series in trilogies/volumes, since each Royal Toad volume is split into 3 audiobooks...

No no, I've not dropped out, just still reading the first book. So feel free to continue and maybe I'll pick up the threads when continuing. I like it that you all keep reading though. A lot of these chuncksters, like 'Buy Mort', I'm continuing, but life gets in the way and the same with other books. I've got some BR's still that I'm continuing, but things are going slow at the moment.

Started my reread. Really enjoying so far! Through Chapter 25 and It's so nice (view spoiler)[to be back with the gang! It's pretty funny seeing Farah crack similar technology/our world jokes as Jason and everyone else is still like "huh?" and "how are you alive again?"

Also kinda funny that Jason's former fling is turning out to have major repercussions... Will that teach him to think about things more before jumping in? Probably not.

Finished! Like Iain said, this was a lot of fun... (view spoiler)[though I might disagree with the comment that Jason tries to stay out of trouble--he doesn't actively avoid it and he does kinda stick himself out there with a "come at me bro!" attitude. True, he doesn't go looking for trouble, but he makes it very clear he won't back down when it comes to town, and that ends up like a magnet... which makes it very satisfying when trouble gets smacked down.

I think the author has done a good job of balancing Jason's OP-ness with similarly OP enemies in this one, more than on Earth... Jason has a few moments where he needs to remind himself that people and monsters are stronger here. There were a lot of conversational explanations, but I was glad of them--like the analysis of how Jason's power type (or essence choices? his build? leveling style?) led to him being more powerful than normal at his rank... something about using those split seconds of advantage to their utmost and fighting on the very edge.

I'm glad that at least some societies are starting to get the memo that poking Jason doesn't end up well though... And the Builder's folks are coming off with serious jack-assery this book. Not that they weren't before. But is it just me or did they dial it up to 1000? Like, sacrificing their own frickin' families??? (hide spoiler)]

I am still caught up with these BRs, just picking it up at the last possible moment and then as per usual I am late to comment...

I agree with Jason that being back in the other world is like coming back home.

Just another really good entry. I feel like I am getting slight fatigue at this point when it comes to some fights and abilities. I just stop paying attention to any details and just get the gist of the strategies used. It's kinda hard to keep up with all new ability upgrades or items effects. But I found I don't really need to follow that well and still enjoy myself.

(view spoiler)[I was bit worried about the character development when Jason was being very open mouthed, angry and just courting trouble instead of trying to be more chill and controlled as he learned to be. So I was quite happy when it was actually acknowledged and shown that his mental state was severely affected by the recent events. Seems like by the end of this book he is better off again and I loved him seeing that all his companions have complete trust in him, even Neil. Quite an emotional part.

Builder looked really desperate when it comes to destroying Jason. Even doing the sacrifice one guy for the whole nation surviving... But yeah that just showed how important Jason is to everyone so major backfire there. (hide spoiler)]

His greatest fear being becoming evil has been there basically since book 1. He is good guy at heart but he also could go the road of sacrificing his goodness if he doesn't see other way of saving his loved ones/the world. (hide spoiler)]
