Carolyn | 124 comments Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a character driven love story set against the backdrop of the acceptance of women into NASA's space shuttle program in the 1980s. The historical aspects of the program and society at the time were well done, although I would have liked a bit more detail about the astronauts' training.

PattyMacDotComma | 272 comments Michael Robotham wrote When You Are Mine as a standalone, I believe, about young Philomena McCarthy, who loves her London police career, but she also loves her gangster father and uncles. What's a girl to do? She's a great character, and I'm delighted to say book #2 is out now, too!

PamG (lynguy1) | 735 comments Here is my 3.78 rounded to 4 stars review of The Highland Heist by Pepper Basham:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Christian Historical Mystery with a little Romance
4th book in the Frederick and Grace Mystery series
Funny, heartwarming at times, plenty of adventure, action, & suspense
The mystery was a little too easy to discern.
A fun and entertaining book, nonetheless.
The Highland Heist (A Freddie and Grace Mystery, #4) by Pepper Basham

PattyMacDotComma | 272 comments I just finished Empire Falls and loved it, but I must admit to being partial to Richard Russo already. I have read and enjoyed the "Fool" series and a couple of others.

While I think the complicated webs woven in 'community' stories are universal, he captures a tone that feels particular to a small-town America that's been disappearing.

Empire Falls by Richard Russo My review of Empire Falls

PamG (lynguy1) | 735 comments Here is my 3.93 rounded to 4 stars review of Ancient Warlord by Katie Reus:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Paranormal romance with a little suspense
10th book in the Ancients Rising Series
Overall, this was an entertaining and enjoyable book with humor, great characterization, and a sweet, but slow burn romance. I wanted more suspense and action.

PamG (lynguy1) | 735 comments Here is my 4.13 rounded to 4 stars review of The Night Collector by Victor Methos:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Legal / Crime Thriller
2nd book in the Vegas Shadows series
Well-crafterd plot, great characterization, suspenseful
Investigation and Trial
I didn't like the ending. The case is solved, but there's a major situation that is left up in the air. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star read for me.
