I know, I love challenges too! I am a super competitive person--my husband came in once when I was coming up with books for challenges and he said, "Only you would make a competition out of reading books." I quickly pointed out all the other people participating in the challenges too!

Are they any good? I picked up the first five at a carboot ages ago and they are still sitting on my shelf! I didn't even realise they where paranormal, I picked them up incase I needed them for a challenge.
Would you recommend them?

Yay. Mel, I'm seeing you're also loving Cade. I'm curious as to how you'll like Rydstrom's story. You're going to surpass me cause I haven't received that book yet :(

I liked the first one, but wasn't impressed enough to jump right into the rest, so mine have also been languishing on my shelves for months. Then I decided to go ahead and use them in this month's challenges, so I could clear them off my TBR before the New Year. But I still wasn't sure I'd read them all - you saw how I hedged my bets in this month's challenge! Once I got back to them, things just seemed to click, and I kept going. I gave books 3 & 4 each a strong 4* rating, so am hoping this next one holds up to that. The time travel itself only happens in books 1 & 4 (so far anyway), but there's the druidh who brought them forward in time, a snowy owl named Mary, and some interesting skills/gifts. Each one is just unique enough to be interesting, and I've been having fun with it. They're a light, quick read. They do need to be read in order. Try one and see!

Thorn QueenMaybe it was the big hype created around the book which had me waiting for more things to come, or maybe it was due to the fact that I read this book after reading a lot of PNR books (where intensity and passion on almost every page is a must) which made me not really appreciate Eugenie’s dry tone narrative voice, or maybe it was just me... but it did take me a fair amount of pages to warm up to the book.
After that however I got sucked into an engaging, exciting and at certain times shocking and emotional story. (3,5- 4 stars)

I didn't think I'd finish this month. The last book I read was Companions of the Night - a young adult book which I'd give 3 stars. It was an OK but not something I'd read again.
