1. "mcguffin" - as Christina so helpfully put it. I hope it gives quite some possibilities and yes it can be an object, like the goblet of fire, a ring of power, a lost will, evidence, a witness, prophecy, magic spell, etc.... someone wants to find to use / someone uses for some evil purpose. To throw in some other possibilities if someone reads mysteries: (finding) the murder weapon with which the crime has been committed that also works for mcguffin
2. 47 & 49 should be different as one should concern plot, the other should relate to the villain's person somehow (can be inner characteristic, can be appearance, background, name - we are flexible on this ...)
