Melanie Cellier grew up on a staple diet of books, books and more books. And although she got older she never stopped loving children’s and young adult novels. She always wanted to write one herself but it took three careers and three different continents before she actually managed it.

She now feels incredibly fortunate to spend her time writing from her home in Canberra, Australia where they don’t have a beach but they do have kangaroos hopping down the streets. Her staple diet hasn’t changed much, although she’s added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to the list.

She is currently working on The Four Kingdoms, a series of YA fairy tale retellings.

I had originally planned for the Four Kingdoms series to be complete with the four current novels and two novellas. (Which gives a story to each of the princesses who were tested in The Princess Companion.) However, when I got to the end of the fourth book, The Princess Game, I realized that Celeste's oldest brother hadn't yet found a princess of his own. And so, of course, I couldn't resist a fifth Four Kingdoms novel about Frederic and his future princess. It's working title is The Princess Search, and it should come out mid-2018. I don't have any more plans to write in the Four Kingdoms series after The Princess Search and will then return to Beyond the Four Kingdoms :)(less)
