PattyMacDotComma | 3310 comments Gotta love a feisty role model who sticks to her standards. Taylor Swift by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a well-illustrated children's bio of this popular entertainer who seems to be right up there with Elvis and the Beatles when it comes to her fans - the Swifties. Nice girl.
Taylor Swift (Little People, BIG DREAMS) by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara My review of Taylor Swift with several illustrations that do her justice

Though I did have some minor issues with this middle-grade fiction, I still enjoyed it a lot. I'm sure kids will love it even more.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9985 comments The cover drew me in, but the plot and characters and prose kept me reading. More of Mary Horlock is definitely on my TBR. 5★s for The Stranger's Companion: A beautiful island . . . an impossible mystery.

I'd have liked it even better had I know it was a literary fiction and not a thriller as promised. Still, could be a great read for fans of the author. (I am not one yet as I have read only this one book.)

PattyMacDotComma | 3310 comments TIME Magazine called a song about lynching, "Strange Fruit", the song of the 20th century. How Percival Everett managed to write a satire about such a subject The Trees, and make it laugh-out-loud funny is beyond me.
The Trees by Percival Everett My review of The Trees

Shortlisted for the 2022 Booker Prize - no wonder.

Not surprised the cover drew you in, Marianne. Good that the book lived up to it.
