PattyMacDotComma Zadie Smith's 'New Yorker' story The Embassy of Cambodia, is about neither an embassy nor Cambodia, but about Fatou, a young Ivory Coast woman living near the embassy in England, a scary place for someone like her to be right now, I imagine.

PamG (lynguy1) | 1025 comments Here is my 4.59 rounded to 5 stars review of Passions in Death by J.D. Robb:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Police Procedural - near-future - some romance

Robb is an excellent storyteller who combines a clever plot with gripping scenes, lots of solid police investigation, and engaging characters with depth.

This one was a little slower paced than some, but still great.
Passions in Death (In Death, #59) by J.D. Robb

PattyMacDotComma Pulitzer-winner Elizabeth Strout has asked her much-loved characters to Tell Me Everything, and some of them open up. I reckon she should add I'm listening! because that's why they're talking. Wonderful book. Love it, of course.

PattyMacDotComma I generally prefer reading to listening, but audio done well can add a lot to a story.

Darkness Visible by Arvind Ethan David is like a full-blown radio play, part of Audible's Earworm series of short stories. Very entertaining.
