It's not too long so we'll see

The Ruby Circle for #6 in a series.
2 Stars.
Finished Friday 8th May (Australian time)
So I've been a little bit disappointed with this series ever since the split viewpoint happened in book four, and this book sadly wasn't an improvement on that. There really isn't enough separatation in Richelle's writing style to convince me that I was reading one or the other character, I commonly found myself flicking back to the start of the chapter just to make sure my narrator was who I thought it was.
Another issue that I had with the last book particularly is that the 'torture' that Sydney is exposed to isn't really then followed up after her escape. That did end up being addressed in this book, for which I was thankful.
However, the overall feel of the book --the last book and culmination of two 6 book series-- felt really scattered. It felt as though the author had no idea which way to go with this story and so went in five or six disparate directions. I mean, the goal was to find Jill, but in the middle of that there was a wander into a Keepers village and an excursion into the Warriors of the Light which I just couldn't found even with the reasons we were given. Give me more to do with the Alchemists or the witches for gods' sakes, since they've been built up since the very beginning.
Lastly, I've well past gotten to the point where I honestly couldn't care less about whether Sydney and Adrian stay together or not, which is a sad thing given that they were married at the end of last book. The parts I found most interesting where the scenes in which they were not together.
I did finish it though, if only just. For that it gets two stars.

I really loved this book. I had heard about it for a long time but had never wanted to read it then last summer for summer reading I read his other book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and decided to give this one a try. And it was awesome. Heartbreaking, but it told a wonderful story that spanned decades

OK I can do that for you Erin It will just take a few minutes :)

Review:I've been wanting to read this book since I first saw that wonderful cover with the drool worthy Viking on the cover. This is also my first Shelly Laurenston book and it will not be the last she was a wonderful way of writing that just lets the words flow on the page. Vig and Kera were awesome both of them could kick some serious butt and I really enjoyed the foreplay between the two, not just in the bedroom either ;) I'm very much looking forward to next book in the series.

This series has been a bit hit and miss for me, so I was a little nervous starting this one. Thankfully, there was no need for nerves, as I totally loved it! I couldn't put the book down! It was nice to get a peek inside the vampyres' world. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!

Another easy read from the Fool's Gold series. I really liked Athena and her fellow goats and I thought Heidi was fun to read about. Not my favorite Fool's Gold novel, but still a fun read.

For Book #7 in a series.
Finished 15th May.
It may be that it's been a while since I read one of these books and I somehow forgot how good they were, but I think this book was the best so far. Not only did it have all my characters that I loved so much from the first books, it also had a lot of pay off from the build up in previous books. And that was written SO WELL.
Not a quiet moment in this book. I was page turning in every spare minute I had this week.

Review: I really liked these two couples from book 1. Boyce was such a angry kid, but he had every reason to. I liked Pearl, I'm so happy she never tried to diss Boyce growing up. I liked them as adults. I thought this book was very good. It had me tearing up in places a lot. I really loved how they came together, and that speech from Lucas brought tears to my eyes.

Review: This has been a series I have been wanting to start for some time now. The story was fast paced with lots of action. The Sexual tension between the 2 main characters was hot even though the deed never actually got done until the last couple chapters of the book, but the build up was great.
The secondary characters were interesting and were the deciding factor in whether I would continue on with this series or not and I will be there where more then a few interesting males that I want to know more about ;)

This one's a toss up for me. I had issues with the beginning and the end, but liked the middle. I spent a lot of time angry with Molly and just couldn't connect with her throughout the entire story. I loved Carter though. All in all, I'm feeling kind of apathetic about the book as a whole.
A more detailed review will be posted over at Dark Faerie Tales. I'll post a link once it's up online!

I dug this story quite a bit. Some parts were pretty slow but all in all it was a story that made me laugh and cry and I could identify with some parts of her life which was nice. I cannot wait to watch the movie now!!

City of Dragons by Robin Hobb
5 stars
Finished 23/5/15
I loved this book. It was interesting due to different pacing than usual for a third book in a series but, given that the last books read like a duology in which most plot points were crossed off, I suppose it made sense. City of Dragons was paced to introduce new plot points like what happens after the dragons and keepers reach their destination, and reintroduced other plot points like Alise's husband Hest wanting to follow her into the city for his own best interests. I can't wait to see a resolution for the horror beginning of Seldon's new story.
Most of this book felt like it was building up and the end of it felt like a halfway point that no doubt the last book in this series will fulfil. Very enjoyable read.
